Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree’s Scadurtree Fragments Reduce Damage Taken in the Land of Shadow

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is bringing tons of new content for players, and based on recent hands-on impressions, it’s pretty challenging. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki spoke of a new level-up mechanic, which only works in The Land of Shadow, and it’s finally revealed (courtesy of IGN).

Scadurtree Fragments are the new material discovered by exploring the new region, and they’ll decrease the damage dealt by enemies. You must consume them at a Site of Grace so those who favor a challenge can avoid doing so. There are Revered Spirit Ash Blessings, which increase the damage of your Spirit Ashes.

While they won’t carry you – depending on the summons – the damage boost certainly helps. Find out some of the expansion’s new summons here. It’s worth noting that “Scadurtree” could be the name of the tainted Erdtree seen in the Land of Shadow, so it should be interesting to see its bigger role.

Launching on June 21st for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree also features new dungeons and bosses. Learn more about them here.
