    The Graham Norton Show

    10.40pm, BBC One

It has been more than a decade since director Quentin Tarantino was on Graham’s sofa, and now he’s back to rave about his new Sacha Baron Cohen-starring West End farce, The Popinjay Cavalier. Taking a seat with him are US chat host Ellen DeGeneres; Colin Farrell, with a moving documentary about his friend; and Gemma Chan, who stars opposite Channing Tatum in the film Josephine. Suede provide the uplifting live music from their latest album, Antidepressants. Hollie Richardson

    Gardeners’ World

    8pm, BBC Two

A glimpse of GW’s future: Frances Tophill takes the lead this week, rather than soon-to-depart presenter Monty Don. She’s planting garlic in containers, and perennial vegetables, the sort that should provide bounty year after year with minimal maintenance, in her borders. Jack Seale

    The Walking Dead: Dead City

    9pm, Sky One

More post-apocalyptic splatter from a very rotten Big Apple. To shore up New York’s power grid, Maggie and Negan must recruit a squad of boozy miscreants – including a fireman, a chef and a porn star – for a high-risk raid. Their target? The zombie-infested Empire State Building. Graeme Virtue

    War

    9pm, Sky Atlantic

Messy divorce … Sienna Miller as Carla in War. Photograph: Miya Mizuno/Sky/HBO

The classy divorce is quickly becoming seedy as Carla (Sienna Miller) and Morgan (Dominic West) build their cases. When Carla tells her son, he is devastated and goes to Morgan for answers (“Your mum, she farts in bed – I just can’t take it any more”). Meanwhile, is junior lawyer/mole Johnny (Archie Renaux) in over his head? HR

    The Last Leg

    10.05pm, Channel 4

Josh Widdicombe is a very busy (and probably tired) man. The night before Strictly, he’s back on his old late-night hosting spot with Adam Hills and Alex Brooker. Now in its 35th (!) season, the show’s first guests chewing over the week that has been are comics Ellie Taylor and Tim Minchin. HR

    Grimsburg

    12.45am, Sky One

Season three of the offbeat animated copcom continues with jaded detective Marvin Flute (voiced by Jon Hamm) bonding with his jittery son Stan over competitive hobby-horse riding. Elsewhere in town, Wynona gets brain surgery to simplify her love life. Could this be heartsick cyborg Greg’s big chance? GV

    Film choice

Masterplan (Thomas Vincent, 2026), Prime Video

Gentleman thief … Stanley Tucci as the scheming Roger in Masterplan. Photograph: Amazon MGM Studios/PA

Settle back and let the estimable Stanley Tucci work his charms on you … just like his gentleman thief, Roger Cavendish, who lures his long-lost children – hacker Chiara (The White Lotus’s Simona Tabasco) and explosives expert Jay (Victor Belmondo) – into a preposterous plot to steal the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in this heist comedy. The restored criminal family’s tentative bonding is mere window dressing for the main business of gadgetry, disguises and uncertain motives. Much of this is from the Mission: Impossible playbook, but with Tucci in charge it often sparkles. Simon Wardell

Moss & Freud (James Lucas, 2025), HBO Max

Derek Jacobi has already portrayed, superbly, one titan of post-second world war British art, Francis Bacon (in 1998’s Love Is the Devil). Now, in Lucas’s fascinating snapshot of the early 2000s, he has a good stab at late-period Lucian Freud. The true story of supermodel Kate Moss (a well-cast Ellie Bamber) sitting for a painting by him is a study in similarity and contrast: she’s the hard-partying doyenne of British fashion; he’s the austere old master. But he has his own wild side to reckon with, while she finds a kind of stability through their regular meetings. SW
