The Redmi Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+ include significant upgrades to design, durability, and performance compared to its predecessors, the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+.

However, it looks like there’ll be more models to come, with successors to the Redmi Note 13 and Note 13 5G both expected at a later date.

But what are the Pro models bringing to the table? Here’s everything you need to know about the Redmi Note 14 lineup as it currently stands.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Redmi Note 14’s release date, price, and specifications.

When will the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 be released?

Xiaomi officially unveiled that the Redmi Note 14 Pro series in China on 26 September 2024. Interestingly, that was the same day the Xiaomi 14T series was introduced to a global audience, though this was a separate launch.

However, only two models have been announced so far: the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+. If Xiaomi matches the previous generation, we should be getting a regular Redmi Note 14 (4G-only) and Redmi Note 13 5G at some point.

Although this launch is initially for the Chinese market, a global release is expected to follow in the coming months.

GSMArena reports that a global launch is rumoured to happen in November 2024, but no source is cited. That would be earlier than usual, so a more likely scenario would be the usual January/February 2025 launch window.

As a reminder, the Redmi Note 13 series was globally released on 1 February 2024, after its initial Chinese launch on 21 September 2023.

How much will the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 cost?

Pricing for the Redmi Note 14 series varies depending on the model and configuration. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the prices for the Chinese market:

Redmi Note 14 Pro:

  • 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: CNY 1,400 ($200/£150/€180/₹16,700)

  • 16GB RAM + 512GB storage: CNY 2,300 ($330/£245/€295/₹27,200)

However, those UK and US prices are simply direct conversions of the Chinese figures, with the actual prices likely to be much higher.

What features will the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 have?

The Redmi Note 14 series is packed with features designed to offer a high-quality user experience. Here’s a closer look at all the key specs and features of the Pro model.

Design & Build

Both the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro+ models boast a new ‘King Kong’ architecture that promises to significantly enhance durability.

The phones are equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front, but only the Pro+ model features a dual Gorilla Glass design with a textured back for added grip and aesthetic appeal.

They are also IP68 and IP69K certified to provide resistance to dust, water, and extreme temperatures.

Colour options for the series include Mirror Porcelain White and Midnight Black, both of which are available on both phones.

However, the Note 13 Pro+ is also available in Star Sand Blue, while the Note 13 Pro additionally offers Twilight Purple and Phantom Blue finishes.

Display & Speakers

Both models of the Redmi Note 14 series feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.

The screen supports 12-bit colour depth, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. Their displays also boast a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

Performance

The Redmi Note 14 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The Pro+ model, on the other hand, uses the more powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, along with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of faster UFS 3.1 storage.

Cameras

The Pro+ model features a triple-camera setup that includes a 50Mp OmniVision Light Hunter 800 main camera with f/1.6 aperture and OIS, a 50Mp telephoto lens (2.5x optical zoom) for detailed portraits and 5x ‘lossless’ digital zoom, plus an 8Mp ultrawide lens with a 120° field of view.

The Pro model’s camera setup is slightly toned down, featuring a 50Mp Sony sensor for the main camera, an 8Mp ultra-wide lens, and a 2Mp macro sensor.

For selfies, both models have a 20Mp front camera capable of recording 1080p videos at 60fps.

Battery & Charging

The Pro+ model comes with a massive 6,200mAh battery, supporting 90W fast charging. That’s one of the largest we’ve seen on any phone.

According to Xiaomi, this battery is rated to last for four years of usage without significant degradation and can operate even in extremely cold temperatures.

The standard Pro model has a 5,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging. However, neither phone offers wireless charging.

Software

The Redmi Note 14 series runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS software, which has replaced the previous MIUI but remains very similar. It’s currently based on Android 14, though the Android 15 equivalent might be available by the time it comes to Europe.

While Xiaomi hasn’t revealed how long it will support the series for, the Redmi Note 13 series offered three years of OS upgrades and four years of security patches. It’s likely to be the same once again.
