What Apple is saying about WWDC 2025What are we expecting from WWDC 2025?

Apple has announced the date of its next big software event, WWDC 2025, when iOS 19 is expected to receive a full unveiling.

Each year, Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) serves to highlight the company’s forthcoming software releases, as well as a few notable hardware launches.

The company has now issued a press release announcing that WWDC 2025 will take place from June 9 to June 13.

There’ll be an in-person keynote address once again this year, and it’ll be held at Apple Park HQ. This keynote will take place on June 9 from 10am PT or 6pm BST, and you’ll be able to watch it live on Apple’s YouTube channel.

What Apple is saying about WWDC 2025

According to Apple, “WWDC25 will spotlight the latest advancements in Apple software”.

It’s often easy to forget that WWDC wasn’t conceived as a consumer-facing event, but Apple reminds us that it will use WWDC 2025 to “share the latest tools and technologies that will empower developers and help them continue to innovate.”

To that end, Apple will focus on helping developers through video sessions, as well as offering the opportunity to connect with Apple engineers and designers in online labs.

Apple has also announced that it’s running a Swift Student Challenge that will see 50 young winning applicants invited to Cupertino, California, for a “three-day experience”.

What are we expecting from WWDC 2025?

Of course, the consumer-facing side of WWDC is what most of us are interested in. We’ve written a comprehensive breakdown of what to expect from that element of WWDC this year.

If you’re just after the TL;DR of it all, though, allow us to summarise:

WWDC 2025 will showcase the forthcoming iOS 19 release, which should finally roll out to the public around the time of the iPhone 17 release later this year. A bigger than usual design overhaul is tipped, which should also cover iPadOS 19 and watchOS 12. We might even finally get to see that AI-enhanced Siri that Apple had been banging on about since before the launch of the iPhone 16.

MacOS 16 should also be covered, and we might even see some new Mac hardware unveiled. It’s about time we got a new M4 Ultra-powered Mac Pro.
