Here’s one of my hot takes that I know everyone doesn’t share: it’s okay to use AI for assignments. Really. The key here is knowing how to use it and learn from it, and not just mindlessly copy-paste their responses to Blackboard or Canvas.
However, here’s the thing — even if you’re just using LLMs like Gemini to, say, proofread your essay or write an introduction, you’re still susceptible to AI detection. But don’t fret, that’s the reason AI humanizers exist.
So, which AI humanizer works best with Gemini? Is it Undetectable AI or TurnItHuman? Let’s find out.
What is Gemini?
Gemini is Google’s multimodal large language model released in December 2023, designed to understand and process text, images, audio, and code simultaneously. TurnItHuman falls dramatically short of the original. It introduces strange phrasing like “more focus than the normal ethics” and fails to capture the core message. Its grammar is awkward, with run-on sentences and vague references. Adding “with the help of different guidelines you can do various tasks” also completely misses the point of the original essay.
Undetectable AI is closer to the original text. It preserves key concepts and follows a similar structure. However, it suffers from unnecessarily complex choices. Words like “excluding” instead of “avoiding” bias slightly alter the meaning. The phrase “pursuit of a paradigm that converges human values with technology” is needlessly wordy compared to the original’s “align technology with human values.” Its grammar is generally correct, but it lacks the clarity and conciseness of the original essay.
In terms of readability, TurnItHuman is disjointed and confusing. Undetectable AI is comprehensible but burdened by complexity. Neither captures the straightforward effectiveness of the original. TurnItHuman also omits crucial details about aligning with human values and safeguarding against harms, while Undetectable AI includes these concepts but buries them in awkward phrasing.
No real winners here.

The Bottom Line
Both tools have their own slip-ups, but overall, they synergize well with Gemini. The truth behind AI humanizers, despite their name, is that they really rarely work. Undetectable AI and TurnItHuman (and I know because I already tested them before) are the exceptions to the norm.
That said, if we’re talking purely about numbers, then Undetectable AI is the winner. Then again, here’s the secret: you don’t actually need a low AI likelihood score — you just need a low enough score that you can defend your work. 28.5% and 12.65% are both plenty enough, and then some.
