Mingus Reedus, the 25-year-old son of “The Walking Dead” actor Norman Reedus and model Helena Christensen, was arrested in New York City on 23 August 2025 following an alleged assault on a 33-year-old woman. The incident reportedly occurred in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighbourhood, where the woman sustained minor injuries to her neck and leg. She was transported to Bellevue Hospital and treated in stable condition.
Reedus faces five charges related to the incident: third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, reckless physical injury, aggravated harassment, and second-degree harassment. These charges encompass a range of offences from physical harm to harassment and obstruction of breathing, reflecting the severity of the alleged attack.
During his arraignment, Reedus pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released without bail. His attorney noted that the decision to charge him with misdemeanours and release him without bail underscores his presumption of innocence under the law. Reedus is due to appear in court for further proceedings, where the case will continue through the judicial process.
This is not the first time Mingus Reedus has faced publicised legal issues. In 2021, he was arrested for allegedly punching a woman at the San Gennaro Festival in New York. The case concluded with a plea deal in March 2022, when Reedus accepted a charge of disorderly conduct. The previous incident and the current charges together highlight ongoing concerns regarding his interactions in public settings. Authorities are treating the latest incident seriously, given the physical harm sustained by the alleged victim and the number of charges filed. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office is responsible for prosecuting the case, and further legal developments are expected as the court proceedings advance.
The arrest of Mingus Reedus has been widely reported in the media, with major outlets covering the alleged assault, the charges filed, and his previous legal history. Details regarding the alleged victim have not been released in order to protect her privacy. The case is ongoing, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Court hearings and legal proceedings will determine the next steps, with updates expected as the matter progresses through the judicial system.
While the case is ongoing, Reedus remains entitled to the presumption of innocence, and all allegations are yet to be proven in court. Legal experts emphasise that the outcome will depend on evidence presented during trial, witness testimony, and adherence to proper legal procedures.
