Summary created by Smart Answers AI

In summary:

  • Tech Advisor reports that Vivo unveiled the X300 Ultra at MWC 2026, a flagship smartphone expected to launch globally unlike previous Vivo models.
  • The device features advanced camera capabilities including 800mm equivalent zoom with Zeiss Telephoto Extender and 4K 120fps recording in 10-bit Log format.
  • A specialized Camera Cage accessory with shutter buttons positions this device as a serious videography tool competing with Samsung and Apple flagships.

Vivo has demonstrated its new flagship smartphone, the X300 Ultra, at MWC 2026 – and it’s shaping up to be a bit of a photographic monster.

We don’t always afford Vivo too much coverage here on Tech Advisor, since their support for the UK and other Western markets has been spotty to say the least.

Hot on the heels of the impressive-looking Vivo X300 and X300 Pro, however, comes the news that the Vivo X300 Ultra is to launch outside of its native China. It’s getting a global release, though details about when and where are TBC.

We have our fingers crossed as it sounds as if it’s going to offer something pretty special in the camera department to take on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

While spec information is on the thin side right now, Vivo has been showing off its flagship phone’s new teleconverter and camera rig accessories at the Barcelona event. The Vivo Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra (deep breath) offers a huge telephoto lens attachment with a 400mm equivalent focal range.

Add in those sensor cropping techniques that smartphone manufacturers have become so adept at in recent years, and the Vivo X300 Ultra accessory will be able to hit an 800mm equivalent focal range.

Another new accessory to be offered alongside Vivo X300 Ultra is the Camera Cage. This video-focused accessory is a videographer’s dream, adding shutter buttons and quick-release ports, as well as allowing you to mount a flash, a tripod, and a cooling fan.

Indeed, as Android Headlines reports, Vivo is claiming that its new phone will be a video specialist. It will feature “premier specifications at multiple focal lengths, cinematic colour performance, upgraded Log recording, and enhanced audio.”

Specifically, it’ll support multi-focal 4K 120fps recording in both the 10-bit Log and Dolby Vision formats, as well as three-degree OIS for enhanced stability.

4K Master Color Video and Video Color Palette should grant fine control over tone and contrast. Vivo hasn’t forgotten about sound recording either, with upgraded Quad-Mic Audio Recording Master.

We’re hoping to see a full reveal of the Vivo X300 Ultra later this month.
