With temperatures expected to drop as low as -5°C, Trump cited safety and historical precedent as the reasons for moving the ceremony indoors. “An Arctic wind is sweeping the country,” Trump posted. “For everyone’s safety, I will deliver my inaugural address in the Capitol Rotunda, just as Reagan did in 1985.”
The ceremony, despite its relocation, is expected to draw over 200,000 attendees eager to witness the beginning of Trump’s new term.
