  • Sony has teamed up with LINE to bring mini-apps to the layer 2 platform Soneium.
  • The partnership targets web3 adoption with over 200 million new users.
  • Sony’s L2, which launched its mainnet in January this year, will welcome four mini games.

Sony Block Solutions Labs’ layer 2 blockchain Soneium is joining forces with LINE, a social platform boasting 200 million active users, to integrate four popular mini-apps into its ecosystem.

According to a Soneium, the partnership aims to streamline web3 adoption.

Sony will leverage LINE’s massive user base and Soneium’s scalable blockchain technology to bring mini-apps to the ecosystem. In its announcement, Soneium said the collaboration will deliver fresh decentralized experiences to users in the coming months.

The collaboration offers LINE MINI App developers strategic support, including community building, marketing, and IP partnerships. This allows builders to prioritize innovation while Soneium fuels growth. Jun Watanabe, Chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, said,

“LINE has built a strong presence and integrating successful mini-apps into the Soneium ecosystem is a next step toward making Soneium more accessible. We believe this collaboration will drive engagement and adoption in ways that were previously difficult to achieve.”

What games are coming to Soneium?

According to Soneium’s blog post, the first four gaming experiences landing on the L2 via the LINE integration include Sleepagotchi LITE, Farm Frens, Moonveil- Puffy Match and Pocket Mob.

Sleepagotchi LITE is a mini app game that lets players earn points daily without tracking sleep. After hitting 1 million Telegram users in a month and ranking among the top-10 grossing apps, Sleepagotchi LITE aims to expand its global reach via LINE.

Meanwhile, Farm Frens, developed by Amihan Entertainment with over $10M in funding, is a quirky farming gameplay.  It targets LINE’s web2 users with the relaunch on Soneium. Moonveil – Puffy Match is a zero-knowledge L2 gaming and Pocket Mob is a Mafia-style role playing game where players battle and form families within LINE.

LINE’s dominance in digital services pairs seamlessly with Soneium’s vision of frictionless blockchain integration.

By bringing these mini-apps onchain, the partnership bridges Web2 and Web3, offering users decentralized benefits without complexity. Sony launched its L2’s mainnet in January 2025.

Its partnerships include with stablecoin issuer Circle and Solv Protocol, a Bitcoin staking protocol.
