Galaxy Tab S11: In summary

  • Samsung’s upcoming flagship series of tablets
  • Likely to launch later in 2025
  • Should consist of two models, though could include regular instead of Plus

Samsung has been at the forefront of Android tablets for almost a decade and a half.

For a while, it was the only realistic alternative to the iPad, but there’s more competition than ever in 2025.

The latest Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra are impressive devices, but there’s still room for improvement.

So, what will Samsung bring to the table with its next generation? Here’s everything we’re expecting from the upcoming Galaxy Tab S11 series.

When will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 be released?

In summary

  • Likely to launch in either late 2025 or early 2026
  • Should go on sale within a few weeks of being announced
  • Regular Tab S11 and S11 Ultra expected, but no Plus

Samsung has historically followed a predictable release schedule for its Galaxy Tab S series, with new models typically arriving in the second half of the year.

Here’s when it’s launched the last few generations:

  • Galaxy Tab S10 series – Sepmteber 2024
  • Galaxy Tab S9 series – August 2023
  • Galaxy Tab S8 series – February 2022
  • Galaxy Tab S7 series – September 2020

In general, we’re looking at anywhere between one year and 18 months between new releases. Based on that, we’d expect the Galaxy Tab S11 series to launch in either late 2025 or early 2026. If it’s the latter, there’s a chance we could see them alongside the Galaxy S26 phones.

A launch date of H2 2025, so any time between July and December, has been mentioned. But it’s not clear how credible this is.

But how many models will there be? Samsung omitted compact option for the S10 generation, focusing on just Plus and Ultra models.

It’s possible Samsung will retain the two-device strategy for the S11 series, at least initially. Though it looks like that will be just a regular Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra, with the Plus model sacrificed this time around.

However, it might be a simple case of the Plus model being rebranded as a regular. It doesn’t make sense for the base model to be known as ‘Plus’, anyway.

Elsewhere, as was the case with the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S20, could the successor to the Galaxy Tab S10 series be called the Galaxy Tab S20 series? Alternatively, it could be known as the Galaxy Tab S25, to align the naming with the Galaxy S25 series.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 cost?

In summary

  • Galaxy Tab S11 could start close to Tab S10+’s £999/$999 starting price
  • Tab S11 Ultra likely to be around £1,199/$1,199 once again
  • No specific pricing rumours yet

Pricing for Samsung’s flagship tablets has been climbing steadily with each new release.

The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra started at £1,199/$1,199 for the base Wi-Fi model, while the Galaxy Tab S10+ was more affordable at £999/$999.99.

With continued advancements in display technology, performance upgrades, and the integration of Samsung’s AI features, it’s likely the Galaxy Tab S11 series will start at a similar price point.

However, if there are significant changes, we could see further price increases. Nothing concrete has been revealed at this stage.

What specs and features will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 have?

In summary

  • Similar design to Galaxy Tab S10 series expected
  • Both tablets rumoured to use MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset
  • One UI 8 and seven years of updates expected

Design

The Galaxy Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra’s sleek and durable design will likely inspire the S11 lineup.

Expect premium materials like Armour Aluminium for the chassis, which is both strong and lightweight, along with IP68 water and dust resistance.

While it looks like the regular Tab S11 will replace the Tab S10+ in Samsung’s lineup, it’s not clear if this is a simple renaming or the company will return to a more compact design.

While the S10 series saw minor refinements in thickness and weight, further reductions in these dimensions could make the Galaxy Tab S11+ even more portable.

Samsung may introduce new colour options as well.

Display

Samsung’s AMOLED displays have been industry-leading, and the Tab S11 series will likely push this further.

The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is likely to sport the same massive 14.6-inch AMOLED panel, with a 120Hz and resolution at least matching the current 2960×1848.

Assuming it’s joined by the Tab S11, we could see a display similar to the 11-inch, 1600×2560 panel found on the regular Galaxy Tab S9.

Or, it could stick with a larger screen like the 12.4-inch one found on the Tab S10+. No rumours have suggested one or the other at this stage.

Performance

The Galaxy Tab S10 series introduced MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ chipset, marking a departure from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors.

It looks like that’s set to continue with a rumour suggesting that both tablets will be equipped with one of MediaTek’s current flagship chipsets, the Dimensity 9400 or 9400+. The latter is simply an overclocked version that’s slightly more powerful.

Either option is likely to ensure strong performance for multitasking, gaming and creative work.

Expect the RAM and storage configurations to remain generous, starting at 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage with Micro-SD card support.

Cameras

Tablets are not traditionally camera-focused devices, but the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra’s dual front-facing cameras (12Mp main, 12Mp ultrawide) were a standout feature.

Samsung could refine these further, potentially offering improved sensors and AI enhancements for video calls and content creation. On the rear, a high-quality primary camera and an ultrawide option will likely remain – potentially the same as the current 13Mp main and 8Mp ultrawide.

The regular Tab S11 could either follow the S10+ by matching the S10 Ultra’s rear sensors but dropping the 12Mp ultrawide on the front. Or, it could also ditch the 8Mp ultrawide on the back, matching what we saw on the regulr Tab S10.

However, it’s worth noting that there are no concrete rumours regarding the cameras on the Galaxy Tab S11 series, so this is only speculation at the moment.

Battery & Charging

Battery life is always critical for tablets, so we can expect at least some improvements.

The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra’s 11,200mAh battery offered respectable endurance, so the S11 Ultra might feature an even larger capacity or efficiency gains through software optimisation.

On the regular Tab S11, we could either see a 10,090mAh battery like the Tab S11+, or a 8400mAh cell like the Tab S9. Or, Samsung could choose an entirely new battery capacity.

Either way, all of those previous models were equipped with 45W wired charging, so it’d be a surprise to see that change. However, there are no concrete battery or charging rumours at this stage.

Software

Out of the box, the Galaxy Tab S11 series will likely run on Samsung’s One UI 7, based on Android 15. Enhanced multitasking features, refined stylus integration, and expanded AI capabilities could all make the S11 series a productivity powerhouse.

However, it could run on One UI 8 and Android 16, if it launches late enough in the year. Either way, expect Samsung to continue with seven years of update support, which remains class-leading at the time of writing.

That’s all we can currently say about the Galaxy Tab S11 series. In the meantime, read our guide to the best tablets you can buy right now to see what they’ll be up against.
