Quincy Jones—who died at 91 on Nov. 3—built a remarkable legacy as a 28-time Grammy winner, collaborating with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Celine Dion, and Count Basie.

Over his six-decade career, he produced Jackson’s landmark albums—Off the Wall, Thriller, and Bad—which played a pivotal role in establishing the King of Pop as the most successful artist in the genre. In addition to his music production, Jones scored numerous films, including The Italian Job and Steven Spielberg’s The Color Purple, the latter of which he also produced.

Here’s everything you need to know about the financial standing of the late legendary figure, along with details about his family life.

What Is Quincy Jones’ Net Worth?

At the time of his death, his net worth was reportedly $500 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Was Quincy Jones Married?

At the time of his death, Jones was not married, but he had been married three times.

His first marriage was to his high school girlfriend, Jeri Caldwell, which lasted nine years until 1966 and produced a daughter. In 1967, he married Ulla Andersson, with whom he had a son and a daughter before their divorce in 1974. He then wed actress Peggy Lipton, known for her roles in The Mod Squad and Twin Peaks, and they had two daughters before divorcing in 1989.

Jones was well-known for his vibrant dating life. In a 2018 interview with GQ, the then 85-year-old revealed he had 22 girlfriends, mentioning their diverse origins: “Cape Town, Cairo, Stockholm—she’s coming in next week. Brazil—Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, and Rio. Shanghai—got a great girl over there from Shanghai, man. Cairo, whew.”

How Many Children Did Quincy Jones Have?

Jones is survived by seven children: Jolie, from his marriage to Caldwell; Rachel, from dancer Carol Reynolds; Martina and Quincy III, from Andersson; Kidada and Rashida, from Lipton; and Kenya, from German actress and model Nastassja Kinski.

In a joint statement announcing his death, the Jones family said, “He is truly one of a kind and we will miss him dearly; we take comfort and immense pride in knowing that the love and joy, that were the essence of his being, was shared with the world through all that he created. Through his music and his boundless love, Quincy Jones’ heart will beat for eternity.”
