Quant Small Cap Fund hikes stake in Adani Power and 4 other stocks, trims exposure in 6 firms

Quant Small Cap, the largest scheme under Quant Mutual Fund, raised its stake in Adani Power and four other stocks while trimming exposure to six counters during September.

The fund increased holdings in Adani Power, Aster DM Healthcare, Bata India, Usha Martin, and Zydus Wellness during the month. It added 4.91 crore shares of Adani Power, taking the total holding to 6.04 crore shares in September, up from 1.13 crore shares in August.

Quant Small Cap Fund added 72.27 lakh shares of Zydus Wellness to its portfolio in September, followed by 13.76 lakh shares of Usha Martin, 4.21 lakh shares of Aster DM Healthcare, and 2.42 lakh shares of Bata India.

On the other hand, the fund offloaded 23.09 lakh shares of Himadri Speciality Chemical, reducing its holding to 6.74 lakh shares in September from 29.84 lakh shares in August. It also pared exposure in Anupam Rasayan India, Bikaji Foods International, India Shelter Finance Corporation, Jana Small Finance Bank, and One Source Speciality Pharma during the month.

The fund made a complete exit from three stocks, HP Adhesives, Laxmi Dental, and Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts, selling 5.62 lakh, 2.82 lakh, and 0.39 lakh shares, respectively.Meanwhile, two new additions were made to the portfolio: 36.49 lakh shares of Aptus Value Housing Finance India and 5.03 lakh shares of Intellect Design Arena.At the end of September, the fund held 95 stocks, down from 96 in August, with an assets under management (AUM) of Rs 29,288 crore as of September 30, 2025.

The primary investment objective of the scheme is to generate capital appreciation and provide long-term growth opportunities by investing in a portfolio of small-cap companies. The fund’s performance is benchmarked against the Nifty Smallcap 250 TRI and is managed by Sandeep Tandon, Ankit Pande, Varun Pattani, Ayusha Kumbhat, Yug Tibrewal, Sameer Kate, and Sanjeev Sharma.

According to the fund house, Quant Small Cap invests predominantly in small-cap stocks, constructing its portfolio with both medium-term and long-term horizons. It is best suited for investors with a long-term investment outlook.

In its monthly release, the fund house noted that its portfolio remains tilted towards large-cap stocks, with increased exposure to select NBFCs and public sector banks. It added that it continues to hold a constructive view on infrastructure, hotels & hospitality, pharmaceuticals, consumption, and telecom sectors.

“Our portfolio remains tilted towards large caps, and overall liquidity continues to be strong. Exposure to select mid- and small-cap stocks has been increased across most equity and hybrid schemes. We maintain a positive outlook on large infrastructure, hotels & hospitality, pharmaceuticals, consumption, and telecom, while selectively adding positions in NBFCs and PSU banks,” the fund house said in its release.
