In summary:

  • Tech Advisor reports the Poco X8 Pro series features impressive specifications, with the Pro Max expected to include a Dimensity 9500s chip and 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz OLED display.
  • The Pro Max may offer an exceptional 8500mAh battery with 100W charging, while the standard Pro includes a 6500mAh battery and Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor.
  • Both devices appear to feature 50Mp main cameras, IP68/IP69K water resistance, and HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 for enhanced durability and performance.

Specifications for two Poco X8 Pro phones have leaked online, and they’re shaping up to be seriously speedy mid-range options.

Tipster Abhishek Yadav has taken to X to reveal a full spec rundown of Xiaomi’s follow-up to the Poco X7 Pro (pictured below) – or rather, follow-ups. It seems there’s going to be a new Max model added to the range this year.

Poco X8 Pro Max specs

The Poco X8 Pro Max will reportedly feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz OLED display with a 2000 nits maximum brightness, and will be powered by a Dimensity 9500s chip.

There’ll be a 50Mp Light Hunter 600 main camera, an 8Mp ultra-wide, and a 20Mp front camera. As seems to be the way with modern phones form China, it’ll also pack a monstrous 8500mAh battery with 100W wired charging.

It’ll be 8.15mm thick, will weigh 219g (thanks to that battery, no doubt) and will boast an integrated ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. There’s support for Wi-Fi 7.

Poco X8 Pro specs

As for the Poco X8 Pro, expect a slightly smaller 6.59-inch 1.5K 120Hz OLED display with the same maximum brightness, and a lesser Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor.

The camera setup will comprise a 50Mp Sony IMX882 main and an 8Mp ultra-wide, with a 20Mp selfie camera around front.

This will be a more compact device, but it’ll still find space to cram in a 6500mAh battery with the same 100W wired charging.

It’ll only have a regular optical fingerprint sensor, though, and there’ll only be support for Wi-Fi 6.

Both phones will come with above and beyond IP68/IP69/IP69K dust- and water-resistance certification.

Poco phones always offer impressive mid-range smartphone hardware for the money, of course. What we want to know is whether its take on Google’s Android 16 OS – set to be dubbed HyperOS 3 – can clean up the clutter.

It seems a launch could be right around the corner, so we should have answers to that soon enough. It seems like the Poco X8 Pro Max is based on the Redmi Turbo 5 Max (shown at the top), while the X8 Pro is twinned with the Redmi Turbo 5.
