Google is testing out a new all-encompassing Pixel smartphone diagnostic tool that brings a range of corrective measures together.
Android Authority has been delving into the code of Google’s Pixel Troubleshooting app for Pixel phones, and has discovered evidence of a new more streamlined approach that could make repairs easier.
In version version 1.0.792370112 of the app, there’s a new ‘Device health & support’ option right at the bottom of the system settings menu. While it isn’t available to general users right now, the website was able to get it up and running.
The menu appears to bring together a number of repair tools that were previously spread throughout the Pixel UI. There’s a Battery health option that runs diagnostics on the Pixel device’s battery, as well as supplying tools and advice on how to optimise this element.
Device Temperature, meanwhile, does exactly what its name suggests, monitoring the running temperature of the Pixel phone. If it overheats, the colour scheme moves from green to red.
This new UI also brings Storage monitoring under its wing, showcasing an overview of the different file types and how much space they’re taking up.

The menu also hosts a System updates option, as well as Charging diagnostics and Touch diagnostics. The former appears to use AI to analyse the phone’s charging performance, though it appeared non-functional at the time of writing.
The latter scans the Pixel’s screen for any touchscreen issues, and suggests any potential fixes if so.
To drive home this one-stop-shop nature of this new diagnostic tool, Google appears set to offer an AI-driven search bar for finding any issues.

There’s no indication as to when Google might roll out this new centralised diagnostic tool, but it’s good to know that it’s thinking about how to make Pixel repairs easier as it launches its new Pixel 10 range.
