Hot off the news of Disney and Warner’s new super bundle comes another entertainment package with several services to choose from, all for a discounted price.
Comcast has confirmed (via Variety) that it will be launching the new StreamSaver bundle later this month, which will come with Netflix, Peacock and Apple TV+. The news was revealed at MoffettNathanson’s 2024 Media, Internet and Communications Conference in New York by Comcast Chief, Brian Roberts.
While no pricing information was disclosed, Roberts said that the bundle will “come at a vastly reduced price to anything available today”. However, it won’t be available to everyone – you’ll have to be signed up for a broadband, TV or mobile package from Comcast to take advantage. That also means that for now, it’s exclusive to the US.
This appears to be a direct competitor to the Disney+, Hulu and Max bundle that was confirmed last week – once again solidifying that after years of streaming wars, we’re slowly moving back towards a more traditional cable TV-style model.
We don’t yet know what versions of the streaming platforms will be included in the bundle, as both Peacock and Netflix offer different tiers for subscribers. Here’s the starting prices of all the services at the time of writing:
- Netflix Basic with Ads: $6.99 per month
- Apple TV+: $9.99 per month
- Peacock Premium: $5.99 per month (set to increase to $7.99 per month in July)
Together, the services cost $22.97 per month. Typically, these types of bundles throw in one service for free, so we could see Comcast charging just over $15 per month for all three of these services – if it opts for the cheapest tiers, that is.
With the StreamSaver bundle, customers would be able to watch Baby Reindeer, Ted Lasso, The Traitors US, Stranger Things, Severance and Poker Face all under one singular bill.
We assume that users will have to sign up via their Comcast account, though we should learn more in the coming weeks.
