Motorola Razr 60 Ultra Battery Tipped for Big Boost

The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra could address one of the biggest issues we have with foldable smartphones: underwhelming battery life.

Recent weeks have seen a flurry of leaks emerging concerning Motorola’s next compact foldable, the Razr 60 Ultra (aka the Razr Plus 2025 in the US).

The most recent tip is more nailed on than most, coming as it does from the website of TENAA – China’s telecommunications certification authority. If a phone wants to launch in China, it has to appear here first.

Motorola Razr 60 Ultra set for stamina boost

This new TENAA listing for the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra reveals that the phone will pack a dual-cell battery with capacities of 1,090mAh and 3,185mAh.

That adds up to 4,275mAh, though tipster Anvin points out that this would likely result in a typical capacity of 4,500mAh.

Given that last year’s Motorola Razr 50 Ultra shipped with a 4,000mAh battery, this would mark a massive increase of 12.5%.

Stir in a bump to 68W wired charging (up from 45W), and the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra is looking good on the stamina front.

Why this is big news for foldables

We’re massive fans of the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra, having labelled it the flip phone to buy in 2024.

While we didn’t have a massive issue with the battery life of the phone, we inserted the usual foldable qualifier, stating that it had “Impressive battery life for a flip”.

As that suggests, we’ve come to expect lesser stamina from our flip phones. Hopefully 2025 is going to be the year when that really starts to change.

Last month the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 was tipped to feature a massive 5100mAh battery, which would represent a huge step forward if accurate. Even so, we’re excited to see what Motorola has to offer in the Razr 60 Ultra – especially in light of the other leaks and rumours we’ve been seeing recently.

The aforementioned leak also seems to confirm the Razr 60 Ultra’s core specs, including a huge 6.96-inch internal OLED display, a 4-inch external OLED, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

We should be getting another dual 50MP camera system, too.

Last week Evan Blass (aka EVleaks) posted a GIF of the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra in a snazzy new wooden finish. This followed earlier leaks showing the new flip phone in Pantone Gibraltar Sea (complete with nylon texture), Pantone Lightest Sky (with acetate finish) and Spring Bud.

We also had that Razr 60 Ultra name confirmed, courtesy of the UAE’s own certification body, the TDRA.

Last year’s Motorola Razr 50 Ultra launched in late June, so we could still be several months out from a launch for its successor. As a result, we doubt these will be the last leaks to emerge for the Razr 60 Ultra.
