Building on the success of the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra, the new devices are anticipated to feature cutting-edge technology and design. Based on previous releases, we’d expect them to be called the Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra.

While concrete details remain scarce, speculation about the release date, pricing, and features provides an exciting glimpse into what Motorola might deliver.

When will the Motorola Razr 60 be released?

The Motorola Razr 60 series is expected to make its debut in 2025.

The codename “Orion” and the model number XT2551-3, recently reported by GizmoChina, align with Motorola’s established naming conventions and hint at a new addition to the foldable lineup.

The “XT25” prefix confirms the device’s planned launch year, though exact regional availability remains uncertain.

How much will the Motorola Razr 60 cost?

While there is no official word on pricing, it’s reasonable to assume that the Razr 60 series will be positioned as premium devices.

For reference, the Razr 50 Ultra launched at £999/$999, and its successor is likely to maintain a similar price point, with potential adjustments based on the added features and enhancements.

The standard Razr 60 model may offer a more accessible entry into the lineup, targeting a broader audience without sacrificing too much in terms of performance or design.

What specs and features will the Motorola Razr 60 have?

The Motorola Razr 60 series is expected to build upon the strong foundation laid by its predecessors.

While details are yet to be revealed, examining the Razr 50 series provides clues about what we might see in the next generation.

Design

Motorola has consistently prioritised sleek, innovative designs in its foldable lineup.

The Razr 60 series is likely to continue this trend with a refined hinge mechanism and a slimmer profile.

A premium build with durable materials will ensure the devices remains competitive with other foldable offerings on the market.

We also anticipate improvements in the crease visibility on the folding display and enhanced overall durability.

Display

The Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra featured a stunning 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display, and their successors are expected to raise the bar.

We may see an even brighter and more efficient screen, perhaps with improved refresh rates for smoother scrolling and gaming experiences.

Motorola could also enhance the external cover displays, making them larger and more functional for quick interactions.

As a reminder, while the Razr 50 has a 3.4-inch external display, the Razr 50 Ultra boasts a 4-inch screen.

Performance

Equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, the Razr 50 Ultra delivered exceptional performance.

On the other hand, the regular Razr 50 featured the Mediatek Dimensity 7300X, which wasn’t a great performer.

The Razr 60 series is expected to take this further, possibly incorporating the Snapdragon 8 Elite or a similarly advanced processor.

Enhanced RAM options and optimised software will likely make multitasking and gaming seamless.

Cameras

The Razr 50 Ultra’s 50Mp main lens, 50Mp telephoto and 32Mp front camera offered impressive photography capabilities for a foldable device.

The Razr 50’s setup swapped a 50Mp telephoto lens for a 13Mp ultrawide camera, but still produced great photos.

In the Razr 60 series, we can expect improvements in sensor technology, better low-light performance, and possibly additional lenses for versatile shooting options.

Enhanced AI features for photography and videography might also be part of the package.

Battery & Charging

A 4000mAh battery powers the Razr 50 Ultra, providing about a day and a half’s worth of usage. Interestingly, the regular Razr 50 has a larger 4200mAh battery that will get you through a full day with around 50% battery left.

However, it’s the smaller battery in the Ultra model that supports 45W wired charging, while the Razr 50 only supports 30W wired charging. Both offer 15W wireless charging, though.

The Razr 60 series is likely to feature a slightly larger battery capacitys alongside improved energy efficiency, ensuring longer usage times. Fast charging capabilities may also see upgrades.

Software

Motorola’s near-stock Android experience has been a highlight for its phones. The Razr 60 series is expected to launch with the latest Android 15, complete with Motorola’s intuitive additions for foldable functionality.

Enhanced multitasking features, customisable external display interactions, and seamless app continuity between folded and unfolded modes will likely be emphasised.
