To date, 88 start-ups have participated in the 12-week Prep4Seed investor-readiness programme.

MCS-Tech, a software company specialising in automating hospital billing, claims processing and patient admissions, has won the One to Watch award at this year’s Prep4Seed investor day.

While, Ocras, a producer of frozen food designed for those that have trouble swallowing, has received the Best Pitch Award.

“Winning the One to Watch award is a powerful validation of our vision for MCS-Tech and a testament to the dedication of our team,” said MCS-Tech co-founders Fiachra O’Driscoll and Nicholas Condon.

“The Prep4Seed programme has been transformative, providing the clarity and structure needed to sharpen our commercial strategy and refine our investor proposition. We extend our sincere gratitude to Enterprise Ireland and the BICs [Business Innovation Centres] for delivering such a valuable programme.”

The Prep4Seed programme is a national 12-week investor-readiness programme delivered by AxisBIC, Furthr, Propelor BIC and WestBIC, in collaboration with Enterprise Ireland. This time around, 12 early-stage start-ups took part in masterclasses and one-to-one sessions delivered by the Irish BICs and received training prepare and trial pitches.

“At Enterprise Ireland, we are committed to supporting 1,000 new start-ups over the next 5 years as part of our strategy to 2029,” said Conor O’Donovan, the head of start-ups and entrepreneurship at Enterprise Ireland.

“We know that securing investment is a key challenge for start-ups and the Prep4Seed programme, run in collaboration with the four BICs, supports founders to develop their business proposition to attract further investment.

“I would like to congratulate MCS-Tech and Ocras on their awards today and all the participants on the programme and to commend the hard work it took to get them to this point.”

Last year, design and manufacturing start-up Addaptiv IT was awarded the One to Watch prize at the investor pitch at Enterprise Ireland’s headquarters. To date, 88 start-ups have participated in the 12-week programme.

This year’s cohort includes start-ups working across fintech, life sciences, health-tech, enterprise solutions and digital technologies. Here is a list of the participating start-ups.
