Grand Theft Auto 6 isn’t the only upcoming title that has announced a delay. Skydance New Media announced on social media that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been delayed once again. While the game was set to be released in early 2026, that’s no longer the case. A new release window was not announced.
A statement from Skydance reads, “Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is an ambitious project, and we are committed to ensuring it meets the level of quality that our team, players, and fans expect.” The studio says it won’t be able to “fully realize our mission” to meet the release.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is set against the backdrop of World War II and sees Black Panther and Captain America teaming up to take on the evil organization known as Hydra. They are joined by Howling Commandos member Gabriel Jonews and leader of the Wakandan Spy Network, Nanali. Rise of Hydra is set to be the first title released by Skydance New Media, which is led by former Naughty Dog creative director Amy Hennig, who is also making a Star Wars game for the studio.
This isn’t the first time Marvel 1943 has been delayed. Originally, the game was set to be released at the end of this year. Back in May, though, Skydance moved the window to early 2026.
