There’s a new lore drop out on Marathon’s official YouTube channel, and it showcases the lofty ambitions that accompanied humanity’s first trip to Tau Ceti IV.
Keeping true to the tradition of looking to the past in the quest for a brighter future, data from the Runners has provided us with some valuable insight into why humanity chose the game’s location as a prime spot for a colony. There are also hints that point to the Cryo Archive, the much-awaited fourth map that takes you off-planet to explore the first floor of the UESC ship, Marathon.
It’s been conspicuously absent from the game and is among the many complaints that players have had since the game launched (especially considering how it serves as an end-game zone). Bungie has been listening, working hard to help the game come back swinging after a rather disappointing launch week, at least going by the Steam numbers. While recent fixes covered cosmetics, the studio has also promised a revised approach to how it gate-keeps content in its latest title.
