Mixed impressions abound for Ultizero Games’ Lost Soul Aside, an action RPG that’s been in the works for the past decade. While it currently has a “Mixed” rating on Steam, critics’ reviews are starting to roll in, echoing many of the same complaints.
At the time of writing, the Metascore for the PS5 version is 60 based on six critics (with one of them being a review-in-progress). IGN Spain gave it a 7 out of 10, complimenting the “fast-paced combat full of clever mechanics” while criticizing the “forgettable” story, “flat characters”, and a world that it ultimately didn’t care about.
Eurogamer Germany echoed the same complaints in its 4 out of 10 review, noting that, “Fans of precise, skill-driven combat may enjoy its encounters,” but “everyone else will likely struggle to look past its flaws.” Gamersky was more positive, giving it an 8 out of 10 and praising the “thirty hours of pure, exhilarating action,” though it wasn’t particularly high on the story either.
There should be more reviews in the coming days (including our own), so stay tuned. In the meantime, Ultizero Games has announced updates to address issues with the game’s sound effects, early-game progression, and controls. Head here for more details.
