The remainder of 2024’s release schedule is filling up nicely now, and though that’s likely something that will continue with plenty of announcements and updates in the coming days, the one thing you can never fully count against are delays. And sure enough, a game previously scheduled for this year has now been pushed back.
Bandai Namco and developer Supermassive Games have announced that Little Nightmares 3 has been delayed out of 2024, and is now targeting a release at some point next year, with the duo looking to prioritize the sidescrolling horror game’s quality and deciding that it is going to need some extra time in the oven.
“The teams at Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco Europe have been working towards delivering the best experience possible for the next entry in the franchise,” the announcement message posted on Twitter reads. “As much as we can’t wait for you to return to the Nowhere, we also want to make sure we give the game the care and love it deserves. Quality is a top priority for us, and we know you feel the same way.”
Little Nightmares 3 is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Unlike its predecessors, it will also feature co-op play in a series first. Local co-op won’t be featured, but cross-play will be supported for Friends Pass and across the same console families.
Please do bear with us, little ones, for we need a little extra time to prepare your visit.
Rest assured, we promise to show you a proper welcome. #LittleNightmares III pic.twitter.com/fqxsOPzkFD
