Developer 5th Column Studio has announced a new title – Kaidan. Announced with a trailer, the game has been described as a cinematic action game that pits players against “grotesque Yokai” in single-player as well as multiplayer. Check out the trailer below.
In Kaidan, players step into the shoes of a Seeker – someone trapped in the web between life and death. After striking a deal with the Envoy for a second chance, the Seeker is then thrown back to the land of Ikaiguchi, where they must take on different kinds of Yokai.
As the names of the locations might imply, Kaidan is set in a nightmarish, dark fantasy version of feudal Japan where strange cosmic horrors have twisted reality. While the trailer focuses more on showing off its cinematic levels and enemies, we also get a glimpse at some of the title’s bloody and gruesome combat.
Kaidan is currently only slated for release on PC (via Steam), and doesn’t yet have a release date.
