Expert’s Rating

Pros

  • Powerful
  • Cordless
  • Air filtration

Our Verdict

On the plus side, this tabletop fan is powerful, cordless and fairly compact, and it filters the air it blows at you. On the minus side, it’s noisy and expensive. What will probably swing it for you is whether or not the colourful ring light appeals to you.

Best Prices Today: Jisulife Table Fan Pro3

amazon

If you’ve ever browsed Amazon in search of a fan, it won’t have taken you long to find a product by Chinese brand Jisulife. Its fans aren’t the cheapest around but they have some serious kick.

We’ve already recommended a Jisulife portable fan and in this article, we’re reviewing its Table Fan Pro3, which is not only massively powerful, but features a ring light you can change to any one of a number of colours, or let it cycle through them all. It won’t be for everyone but its modern design and day-glo light means it would be the perfect addition to a gaming set-up.

Design and Build

  • Oscillates
  • Replaceable air filter
  • 100 fan speed settings

The Table Fan Pro3 is a solidly built device of metal and plastic in gunmetal grey. It stands around 31.5cm/12 inches high and it has a fan diameter of 18.5cm/7 inches. Its base is around 16cm/6 inches across and it’s hard to knock over thanks to a heavy stand. All of this means it’s ideal for a desk.

It’s bladeless, so it’s safe near kids and pets, and the air current is expelled from a circular vent around its central LED display.

Considering the size of the display, you might expect the temperature to be shown but as there’s no thermostat on board, all you can see is the fan speed setting – a number between 1 and 100 – and indicators for battery life, timer and so on. 100 settings does seem like an pointlessly excessive number. Can you tell the difference between settings of 66 or 67? I couldn’t but it doesn’t matter much and the scroll dial is pleasant to use.

One of its best features is the fact that it’s cordless

The controls are simple. There are two buttons on the front of the fan, power and oscillation (which you can choose to be tighter or wider), and a dial to adjust the fan speed. On the back are controls for the light.

You can adjust the fan head manually on a vertical axis up 45°, and down slightly as well.

You can set a switch-off timer for up to 24 hours, but it involves using a button and dial combination that’s not at all intuitive, so don’t lose the manual.

One of its best features is the fact that it’s cordless. Inside is a lithium-ion battery and you’ll get between 2.5 and 13 hours of use, depending on the fan speed setting. During testing, with the fan at around 40%, it lasted for perhaps six hours before it needed a top-up.

Charging then takes around 2.5-3.5 hours from flat to full.

The Pro3 isn’t a cheap fan so, beside power and cordless use, what else does it bring to the table (or desk)? Well, unlike most fans of this size, it actually filters the air before blowing it in your face. It’s not a full-spectrum filter like the ones you’d find on a Dyson purifying fan, which also clean the air of VOCs, and it’s not Hepa-grade. But it should stop the fan blowing pet hair and dust at you.

JisuLife claims that it removes 98% of air pollutants, which is impossible to verify. But the air it blows out smells clean and it could help if you have pets or allergies.

Unscrew the back (a mini screwdriver is supplied) and you can replace the filter when you need to. But there doesn’t seem to be an alert or indicator to let you know when to do that. Replacement filters cost £12.99/$12.99 from Amazon UK or US.

The Pro3 fan doesn’t have smart features or a remote. It comes with a USB-C charging cable but no plug.

Performance and Features

  • Noisy in use
  • Powerful
  • Light has seven colour options

The proof of a fan, however, is in the cooling. I’ve been testing it for a couple of weeks but today is ideal for using it as it’s 30°C outside and 28°C in the room where I’m working. I have the fan on my desk, pointed towards my face and it’s extremely cooling and effective, even at around 30% fan power. Bear in mind that even oscillating, it’s really only suitable for keeping one person comfortable, and even then, it’s best when trained on your face.

But the problem is that it’s noisy. Extremely noisy. That’s especially when compared to the Meaco Sefte fan which I recently tested, and which is almost perfectly silent, cordless, and much cheaper (although you can only buy it in the UK).

The problem is that it’s noisy. Extremely noisy

The Pro3 emits a low, white noise (on lower settings), like a computer fan, which isn’t an irritating sound, at least. In my case, I wear headphones while I work so it didn’t bother me at all. But it could make it difficult to hear a phone call or the TV and it wouldn’t make an ideal bedside fan, unless you have it on low or you happen to use a white noise maker anyway.

Plus, when I turned it up to 100% to combat the afternoon heat, my husband came in from another room to find out how a jet could be taking off in our flat.

Then there’s the way it looks. I’ll be honest, if the ring light doesn’t do it for you, the grey plastic build is otherwise more functional than aesthetically pleasing – but it would be more than at home accompanying a gaming rig.

Price and Availability

In the UK, the Pro3 table fan has an RRP of £149.99 but at the time of writing, you can buy it from Amazon for £127.49. In the US, its MSRP is $188.99 but it’s currently available from the Jisulife website for $157.49. Amazon US, however, has a better price of $127.49.

There’s no getting around the fact that this is a pricey fan. We have more budget-friendly options in our round-up of the best fans we’ve tested.

Should you buy the Jisulife Pro3 table fan?

On the plus side, this fan is powerful, cordless and its small footprint means you should be able to find a spot for it on any desk or table. I also like the fact that it has a filter you can change. But it’s pricey for its features, and far from silent in use.

If you want a powerful desk fan to keep you cool while gaming (especially if you’re wearing headphones), this is practically perfect. But for all other uses, you’ll likely find a better fan.
