Despite enduring a real struggling when officially making their Championship return back in August, the Blues have certainly turned a real corner on either side of November’s international break and they will be confident of making another promotion statement here.

Although Stoke might have gained a string of plaudits when opening up the 2025/26 campaign, the Potters have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion and look set for what is another heavyweight challenge in midweek.

In what could prove to be a pivotal showdown from Portman Road on Wednesday night, we have taken a look at some of the most noteworthy Ipswich Town vs Stoke City Bet Builder Tips.

McKenna’s men looking to make another promotion statement

Losing their Premier League status last season, it is no secret that Ipswich opened up the new campaign pencilled in as a standout contender to book an immediate top-flight return this time around.

Last seen putting in what was a season-best performance as they cruised their way to a sensational 3-0 romp against runaway leaders Coventry, Kieran McKenna’s men will be dreaming of a repeat display here.

Knowing that they can move within touching distance of the automatic promotion spots, the one-time Manchester United coach has seen his squad come skyrocketing up the Championship standings.

Heading into November’s international break with a stellar 4-1 victory away at Swansea, Ipswich have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous nine consecutive Championship appearances.

It should also be highlighted, McKenna’s side have suffered just a sole defeat at Portman Road across any competition so far this season.

Stoke’s downbeat rut continues

Flying out of the traps when opening up the 2025/26 campaign, Stoke certainly underlined their status as one of the Championship’s ultimate surprise packages.

However, last seen putting in a woeful performance over the weekend as they slumped to a 4-0 drumming at the hands of a resurgent Sheffield United, Wednesday’s guests look set for what is another monumental challenge here.

Signing off November with a 2-1 defeat at home against Hull, Mark Robins’ side have come tumbling down the Championship standings and are enduring what has become a real rut.

Marking their return from November’s fortnight interval with consecutive losses against Coventry and Leicester, Stoke have lost four of their previous five Championship showdowns and are pencilled in as a major underdog in midweek.

Likewise, Robins’ side also fell to a routine 2-0 defeat when they last travelled to Portman Road for a Championship showdown back in August 2023.

Keep an eye out for Ipswich’s new attacking starlet

Reportedly attracting plenty of interest from across the continent during the summer window, some were surprised to see 19-year-old sensation Sindre Walle Egeli arrive at Portman Road.

Already making his senior debut for the Norwegian national team, the former Nordsjaelland starlet has been compared to a certain Erling Haaland.

Arriving in Norfolk for a Championship record fee of £17.5million, Egeli is expected to play a leading role in Ipswich’s charge to book an immediate Premier League return this season.

While Egeli might have discussed his difficult start to life in England last month, it appears that McKenna’s new leading marksman has found his feet over the past week.

Once again finding the net during Ipswich’s 3-0 romp at home against Coventry over the weekend and notching consecutive Championship strikes, the Norwegian international will be confident of exploiting a leaky Stoke defence.

Bet Builder Tip: Sindre Walle Egeli over 0.5 shots on target @ 3/5 with Dachbet
