Indoor golf entertainment venue Five Iron Golf looking to expand in Colorado

Five Iron Golf, an indoor golf entertainment venue, is looking to grow in Colorado, with an emphasis on Denver.

The company calls itself an “eatertainment destination,” offering a diverse range of amenities, including state-of-the-art golf and multisport simulators with Trackman technology and high-speed cameras, monthly memberships plans, food and beverage options, indoor golf leagues and event spaces for parties or corporate gatherings.

“Denver for us, you know, would be an ideal first entrance to the Mountain West,” said Five Iron Golf Vice President of Franchising Josh Frankel.

“Denver already has such a robust food and beverage scene that we feel — paired with a large population of golfers — would allow us to really just help complement and further grow an already successful area.”

Five Iron Golf venues typically have a full-service sports bar, lounge areas and 4-15 simulators, according to venue floor plans listed on their website. Some locations also feature indoor putting greens and table games such as shuffleboard, pool and foosball.

Simulator rentals can be booked by the half-hour or hour, accommodating up to six people per simulator. Additionally, professional golf lessons, swing evaluations and club fittings are also available in select locations to help golfers of all levels improve their games.

“We want to be able to appeal to all different types of consumers. We’re not going to lay preference on one versus the other,” Frankel said.

“We’re constantly looking to throw programs and events. We have done things specifically targeting women, in trying to grow their interest in the game of golf. We offer junior clinics to try and get kids involved with the game earlier on. We really want to make sure that we preach inclusivity, we want to make sure that anybody and everybody would feel comfortable coming and enjoying a good time at Five Iron Golf.”

The company has yet to select a specific location in the Denver area, Frankel said.

“All opportunities are on the table,” Frankel said. “The Denver community is one that we can’t wait to grow into.”

Founded in 2017 in the Flatiron District of New York City, the company began with a location on Fifth Avenue. Their name originated from combining the “Five” from Fifth Avenue and the “Iron” from the Flatiron District, according to their website.

Since then, the company has opened over 30 locations in major cities across the world, including Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia and a recent opening in Dubai.
