How to Watch The Google I/O 2024 Keynote Livestream

Google has officially confirmed that it will be back with its highly-anticipated annual I/O keynote.

With news expected about the next version of Android, AI progress and potentially even new hardware, this is a must-see for any tech enthusiast.

If you would like to tune into Google’s I/O 2024 keynote as it happens, here’s everything you need to know. You might also be interested in Apple’s WWDC event this year.

When is the Google I/O 2024 keynote?

Google’s I/O 2024 event takes place on Tuesday, 14 May 2024. Here’s what time the main keynote is due to take place:

• 10am PST (West Coast US)
• 1pm EST (East Coast US)
• 6pm BST (UK)
• 7pm CET (Central Europe)

If the past events is anything to go by, this one should last for around two hours.

How to watch the Google I/O 2024 keynote livestream

You’ll be able to tune into the keynote livestream from Google’s official YouTube channel. We will also embed the stream below for easy access once it becomes available.

Alternatively, you should be able to watch the keynote by registering with your Google account on the event website. There will also be access to other sessions and communities here.

If you miss the livestream, then you will almost certainly be able to watch it on-demand after everything has finished.

What will be announced at Google I/O 2024?

I/O is a developer conference, so the main focus is usually software.

That’s unlikely to be different in 2024, with Android 15 for phones and Wear OS 5 for smartwatches both likely to get an official announcement. As with almost everything else in 2024, expect AI features to be at the forefront.

However, Google often uses I/O to also talk about hardware, and there are a few potential devices on the agenda. It’s when we’d expect to see the mid-range Pixel 8a launch, but it could be joined by the Pixel Fold 2.

However, rumours suggest it’ll might part of the Pixel 9 range, which probably won’t be launching. But we could hear more about all three possible new devices in some capacity.
