Here’s where Colorado Safeway workers have gone on strike

Grocery workers in several Colorado cities entered their 10th day of a strike Tuesday against Safeway and parent company Albertsons.

The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 resumed negotiations last week, but after exchanging numerous proposals, the union said the company remained unwilling to offer an agreement that meets the needs of workers.

Union members are asking the company to address key demands such as better staffing levels, livable wages and the protection of workers’ health and pension benefits.

As a result, more stores are expected to join the strike, however, the union has yet to reveal where the new walkouts will occur and at what times.

The union has rolled out the strike slowly, and The Post has compiled a list of all stores that have gone on strike so far, using the union’s social media updates and news releases.

At the time of publication, 22 of the over 80 Safeway locations listed on the union’s website have gone on strike, consisting of 21 stores and one distribution center.

The walkouts include locations in Denver, Lakewood, Aurora, Estes Park, Colorado Springs, Wheat Ridge, Grand Junction, Lone Tree, Boulder, Pueblo, Castle Rock, Fountain, Fort Morgan, Greeley, Brighton and Littleton.
