It’s been a rather tumultuous couple of weeks for Half-Life fans. One moment, rumors circulate about HLX, how it’s Half-Life 3, and an announcement could happen this year. Next, everyone thinks it may happen on the anniversary of Half-Life’s release. While neither has happened yet, Insider Gaming’s Mike Straw is doubling down on a reveal before The Game Awards.
On the latest Insider Gaming Weekly podcast, Straw noted that he has a date, but since it could be a trap by Valve to catch leakers, he won’t reveal it. This would explain insider NateTheHate’s reporting several dates circulating, and he’s working on a consensus before committing to anything.
Despite this, Straw believes it will still be revealed this year and not at The Game Awards on December 11th. If it does appear at the latter, then it may be as a follow-up.
