Hades 2 is progressing towards its early access launch on PC this year for Steam and the Epic Games Store, with sign-ups now available for an upcoming technical test. Interestingly, Supergiant Games revealed that it doesn’t know how long the test will be. The current estimate is “longer than a week, shorter than a month.”
Once the technical test concludes, early access will go live soon after. However, despite targeting a Q2 2024 release window, it doesn’t “know exactly when we will launch Hades 2 in early access.” It all depends on how long the technical test ends up running for.
If the technical test goes live by early May and everything functions as planned with no hiccups, then early access could launch by June (July at the latest). As always, we need to wait and see. The test offers access to the first area in the game alongside early-game characters, systems and content. Save data won’t carry over to the early access build.
As for the latter’s content, Supergiant Games wants to ensure it’s “worth your while as soon as you can play it in any capacity.” Stay tuned for more details on the date for early access in the meantime.
