Given how good modern smartphones are, this is generally a very pleasant experience, but there’s one exception that comes up time and time again: charging speeds.
While many Chinese phone makers offer genuine fast charging, Google’s Pixel handsets typically operate at a fraction of the speed. For example, the Pixel 9 Pro XL that I used for several months could only hit 37W, but that was still enough to make it the fastest-charging Pixel ever.
Google has bumped this up to 45W on the latest Pixel 10 Pro XL, but there’s an extra layer of complexity, as not all USB-C chargers are created equal.
If you’ve ever tried to research USB-C charging, you’ll know it’s a bit of a minefield. Despite using a 65W plug, my Pixel 10 Pro XL has always charged at a far slower rate than Google advertises.
To actually hit 45W, you need a charger that supports PPS (Programmable Power Supply), which, for most people, will mean buying a new accessory. You could go for Google’s standard 45W charger, which will do the job for just £29.99/$29.99. But what if you want to charge two devices simultaneously?
That’s where the Pixel Flex Dual Port 67W USB-C Fast Charger comes in. Clunky name aside, it has the added benefit of being able to fast charge two devices simultaneously. But is it really worth the premium £54.99/$54.99 price tag?

I was sceptical too, but after using it as my main charger for a couple of weeks, I’m a total convert. If you ever want to charge more than one USB-C device at the same time, it’s well worth your money.
Fast charging, Google style
According to Google, the Pixel 10 Pro XL supports ‘fast charging’. And though I wouldn’t exactly call 45W particularly quick, it’s enough to prevent charging speeds from being a weakness…provided you can actually reach those speeds.
With sub-par third-party options, I’d never been able to get close to Google’s claims of up to 70% battery in 30 minutes. Now, I hit that figure pretty much every time.

I’m not a fan of charging my phone overnight, preferring a quick top-up while I get ready in the morning. With a full charge in under an hour (speeds always slow as you approach 100%), my 10 Pro XL is always full by the time I leave the house.

So, when I had the Galaxy S25 FE connected at the same time, it could only reach a maximum of 22.5W. Not a dealbreaker for me, but something to be aware of.

Indeed, the Flex Dual Port will charge any mobile device that uses USB-C. Without another device plugged in, the S25 FE duly told me it was ‘super fast charging’. I didn’t even know that was an option, but the speed matched what I’d expect from 45W charging.
The go-anywhere fast charger
I want to take a moment to talk about the design of the Flex Dual Port. I doubt you’ve spent much time admiring a power brick before, but Google’s typically understated design gets the job done.
However, it’s the compact design that really impresses me here. With dimensions of 34mm x 50.3mm x 65mm, it’s small enough to fit into almost any bag, or even a pocket if you really need it to.

Meanwhile, a total weight of just 164g avoids adding any unnecessary bulk. I can throw it in my backpack, safe in the knowledge that it won’t be weighing me down in the slightest. At the same time, it doesn’t feel flimsy at all, and I’d be confident in it surviving many years and thousands of charging cycles.

It’s this combination of excellent build quality, great flexibility and impressive charging speeds that make the Flex Dual Port an excellent accessory, whether you have a Pixel phone or not.
You might be reluctant to spend this sort of money on a charger, but when you’re using it almost every day, a little bit of extra quality goes a long way.
