Google Pixel 11 Pro & XL Design Leak Shows Missing Temperature Sensor

Summary created by Smart Answers AI

In summary:

  • Tech Advisor reports on leaked CAD renders revealing Google Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL designs expected to launch in August 2026 with Tensor G6 chipset.
  • The leaked designs show minimal changes from Pixel 10 models, featuring an all-black camera bar replacing the previous metal section.
  • Notably, the unique infrared temperature sensor appears to be missing from the new designs, potentially removing a distinctive Pixel feature.

Earlier this week, we got our first glimpse of the regular Pixel 11. Now the Pixel 11 Pro designs have leaked.

Once again, it has a very similar build to its predecessor. In fact, you could argue that it’s even closer, with only the all-black camera bar as an obvious point of difference. Previously, the camera bar had a metal section on the right side around the flash.

But we spotted a big Pro feature missing in these CAD-based renders from Onleaks via Android Headlines (and here for the XL).

The images appear to be lacking the temperature sensor. It normally sits within the camera bar, underneath the flash (see below). Oddly, the site has not commented on the omission.

While niche, the infrared thermometer feature is rare in the phone world and allows you to take the temperature of things via the Thermometer app. You could use it on a metal surface, a drink, or whatever you want.

As mentioned, everything else seems to be essentially identical to the Pixel 10 Pro, with the same 152.7 x 71.8 dimensions and a tiny bit thinner at 8.4mm.

The colour is not official (the image is based on the existing Moonstone colourway), but it does appear to confirm the frame will be glossy again compared to the entry-level’s matt finish metal.

The same things are true for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, which you can see below.

The temperature sensor seems to be gone, just leaving the flash, and once again, the site does not mention this. Perhaps the CAD files leave this element out but it’s strange nonetheless.

Again, the colour shown isn’t official and seems to be based on the Lavender Pixel 10a. The dimensions are 162.7 x 76.5 x 8.5mm making it the same size as the Pixel 10 Pro XL, only 0.1mm thinner.

Note that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold design was leaked earlier in the month, so it’s just the XL left now, though this should simply be a bigger version of the 11 Pro.

The Pixel 11 series will almost certainly launch in August 2026, all powered by a new Tensor G6 chipset. This Pro model is expected to stick with the 6.3-inch display.

One big question is whether Google will up the base storage to 256GB and if the phones, like others this year, will get a price hike.
