FKA twigs — born Tahliah Debrett Barnett — is a British singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, and visual artist celebrated for her genre-defying sound and boundary-pushing performances. Raised in Gloucestershire, she later moved to London, where she began releasing self-directed music and visuals. Her early EPs in 2012 and 2013 quickly earned critical acclaim, setting the stage for her artistic ascent.

Her 2014 debut album, LP1, marked a major breakthrough and established her as one of the most innovative voices in contemporary pop and R&B. Around that time, her relationship with Robert Pattinson drew widespread media attention. The couple dated for several years before splitting in 2017. Twigs later dated Shia LaBeouf, whom she met while working on Honey Boy. After their relationship ended, she filed a lawsuit in 2020 alleging abuse, a case that has remained part of broader industry conversations about accountability and power dynamics.

Artistically, she reached new heights with her 2019 album Magdalene, followed by the emotionally raw single “Cellophane,” accompanied by a striking video directed by Andrew Thomas Huang. In 2022, she released Caprisongs, a more playful, mixtape-style project that showcased a lighter, experimental side of her artistry. More recently, twigs has continued to evolve musically and visually, teasing new eras and expanding her work across fashion, film, and performance art.
