Evie, a smart ring made specifically for women, is getting a new feature in the shape of an AI-powered wellness assistant that wants to be a more reliable source for your medical queries than ChatGPT and better than rivals such as Oura.
At CES 2025, Movano Health says that EvieAI is the first ever wearable-based virtual wellness assistant and has been trained using data from over 100,000 medical journals to ensure you get more accurate responses to your queries.
The assistant will be available through the Evie companion smartphone app and for those wary of chatting all things health to an AI chatbot, Movano Health says it’s followed industry-standard encryption protocols to ensure data is protected when shared and stored.
This should mean that any chats with EvieAI cannot be traced back to individual users for privacy.

Movano Health does have plans to enhance the abilities of its AI wellness assistant to offer personalised responses based on the data captured by the smart ring and logged in the app by users.
So that would include metrics like heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature, exercise and mood. As mentioned though, that’s very much a feature planned for the future.
For now, existing Evie Ring owners can access the beta version of EvieAI for free. While it’s not an Evie Ring 2, adding new features to the existing Ring should be welcome news for existing users and for a smart ring that’s had some mixed reviews since it went on sale.
There’s also been an increase in competition since the Evie Ring was first unveiled in 2022 before launching in 2024.
AI in wearables in general is still very much in its infancy, so it will be intriguing to see if this makes the Evie Ring more appealing or if Movano Health needs to do more to convince prospective smart ring owners from picking it over the likes of the Oura Ring and the Samsung Galaxy Ring.
