Chelsea’s petulance is the first thing Liam Rosenior needs to work on – opinion

Chelsea lose 2-1 to Fulham after Marc Cucurella gets himself sent off for a brain dead moment.

Chelsea players then showed their immaturity and petulance as they all decided to bitch and moan to the Referee, complaining about a decision that was stone wall, and then Tosin Adarabioyo, Cole Palmer, and Enzo Fernandez all got booked. It reminded me of the penalty incident involving Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson back in the day. Just pure petulance. It’s ridiculous. If anything, your anger should be at your team mate Cucurella for doing such a stupid thing.

Chelsea did have their moments in the game and did go for it at times, but they couldn’t sustain it with ten men. They did show moments of spirit where they felt they could get something out of the game. But in the end, Fulham played well and deserved the win.

It’s just de-ja-vu for Chelsea right now. The disciplinary issues amongst this group of players is shocking. I don’t care what anyone says, this comes with inexperience.

Chelsea have received five red cards in the Premier League this season – only in 2007/08 have they ever been given more (6) in a single campaign in the competition.

The fans have completely turned against Clearlake and Behdad Eghbali, with the away end singing songs such as “we don’t care about Clearlake, they don’t care about us, all we care about is Chelsea FC” and “f**k off Eghbali, you’re not wanted here.”

It’s so very gloomy, and it’s even worse when you look at the league now and see that Fulham are LEVEL on points with us after this win. Mad.

Chelsea down to 7th in the league as it stands, just 2 points above 12th place. Yikes.

Ratings

Manager

Calum McFarlane – 4

Two things really. We sat off again after we scored our equaliser and invited Fulham back on us. We looked much better when we pressed them high and went for it. His subs were a little odd.

Players

Image

Robert Sanchez – 6.5

Made a couple of important saves to stop our embarrassment even more but also had a couple of shaky moments where he was too hesitant.

Malo Gusto – 5

After I gave him MOTM last game, I thought he wasn’t on it tonight. He was quite wasteful and not too intelligent on the ball too often.

Trevoh Chalobah – 5

Once again, just not assertive enough or dominant enough. He played a couple of dangerous passes too that he got away with.

Tosin Adarabioyo – 5

Just never looks confident and looked uncomfortable in moments tonight. Didn’t bust a gut either to get back on the Cucurella sending off.

Marc Cucurella – 0

I don’t think I’ve ever rated a player zero before but he gets it for that absolutely nonsense and pathetic pull back to get himself sent off, then for moaning consistently about it and riling up his team mates.

Moises Caicedo – 5.5

Maybe I’m being harsh here but it wasn’t his best game at all – I felt he was tackled pretty easily and lost duals that he is usually winning.

Andrey Santos – N/A

Hard to rate him because he was victim of a dumbass brain far from Cucurella.

Enzo Fernandez – 3

He’s by-passed far too easily and it was a pretty weak performance from him after such a good one against City. Part of the petulance crew as well, stupidly getting booked for complaining to the Ref after being given SO many chances to walk away. Idiot.

Cole Palmer – 7.5

He looked off it again in the first half but the second half he really took the game by the horns and did all he could to get Chelsea back into the game. Superb second half.

Pedro Neto – 5.5

Such a frustrating player. He was an element of danger for our attack for sure, and he was direct in moments. But just like the last game, he is also far too wasteful and breaks our own attacks down with a silly shot or pass.

Liam Delap – 6.5

He did hold the ball up well at times and bought others into the game. He scored a nice poachers goal too. But he also missed one big chance that he should have scored.

SUBS

Jorrel Hato for Santos (27 mins) – 6.5

Pretty solid mostly when he came on and made a huge tackle to stop another dead cert goal for Fulham.

Reece James for Fernandez (64 mins) – 6

Made it a little more sturdy in midfield when he came on but all in all, he was also not on it today.

Josh Acheampong for Gusto (74 mins) – 5

He struggled to deal with Kevin and was beaten quiet easily at times.

Joao Pedro for Palmer (74 mins) – 5

Didn’t really manage to get involved in the game at all.

Conclusion

Image

Oh dear, I heard Liam Rosenior is going to do the post-match press conference after all tonight, because he wants to say his goodbyes to Chelsea and explain why he’s leaving…..
