To be honest, this is just a deal that I see happening sooner rather than later, but I’m just not sure at the moment where he goes.
I am talking about Tyrique George.
Ty has enjoyed some decent minutes this season so far and has come up with some nice, and important goals for his boyhood club.
But even with that said, I still believe he will depart the club in the January transfer window.
Tyrique George could be heading to Selhurst Park this winter amid news Crystal Palace could offer him a route out of Chelsea.
He was very close to joining Fulham on a permanent deal in the summer but admin issues on both sides saw the deal collapse at the final hour.
Ty ended up staying at Chelsea of course and really, it was probably a bit of a blessing that he did because we have needed him and have called on him a few times as cover.
The Daily Mail reported the teenager is due for talks with the Chelsea hierarchy to discuss his prospects ahead of the winter transfer window. And it’s being reported by The Daily Mirror that Palace are one of the clubs interested in acquiring his services should he become available.
I would be very surprised if he does not leave Chelsea in January. I know that he still wants to go, and I know Chelsea would still sell him if the price is right.
Liam Delap is back now so Ty’s playing time in the 9 position will naturally reduce, and he’s rarely going to be playing on the wings either with the options we have ahead of him.
Ty just wants to play as much as possible, and for him to do that he will need to move on. So I do think he still goes this January, and if Palace are keen, then that’s great for Chelsea as it will give us more options to sell him.
