Chelsea chiefs are prepared to bid for a key defensive target this summer, and they could offer one of Trevoh Chalobah or Mykhailo Mudryk in a part-exchange bid for his signature.
Chalobah and Mudryk face uncertain Chelsea futures
Both Chalobah and Mudryk face uncertain futures at Stamford Bridge under Enzo Maresca, but for different reasons.

It would be a head-turning move.
The former, who was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season summer tour just prior to the beginning of the season, initially found himself out of Maresca’s plans, and subsequently made a move to Crystal Palace on loan.
However, their glaring need for another centre-back option midway through the Premier League campaign prompted Chelsea to activate the recall clause in his temporary deal at Selhurst Park, with Chalobah re-joining Maresca’s squad and playing a role in the first-team.

This may not be the case next season, though, as it is reported that Chelsea are looking to significantly invest in signing another high-profile centre-back this summer, with Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen and Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi among their rumoured targets, so Chalobah’s future remains in doubt.
Meanwhile, winger Mudryk recently failed a drugs test, having tested positive for Meldonium late last year. The Ukraine international has been provisionally suspended since the substance was found in his system, and an extensive investigation surrounding this incident remains ongoing.
The 24-year-old is also being linked with a Chelsea exit as a result, with La Liga side Sevilla reportedly interested in signing Mudryk and handing him a lifeline away from the English capital.
With both Chalobah and Mudryk appearing unlikely to hold any major presence at Chelsea in the long-term, a new report has now claimed that BlueCo may offer out any one of them in transfer talks for Sevilla centre-back Loic Bade.
Chelsea could offer Chalobah or Mudryk in bid for Loic Bade
In terms of straight cash, Chelsea are only willing to pay around £25 million, but they could include players to sweeten the deal.
That is according to reports from Spain, which suggest that Chelsea could offer Chalobah or Mudryk in a part-exchange bid for Bade. The Frenchman’s contract actually includes a £50 million release clause, but it appears Maresca’s side have little interest in paying it and would rather find a way to whittle down the overall cost of this move.
Aston Villa actually attempted to strike a deal for Bade in January, again for around £25 million, but both the Villans and Sevilla couldn’t shake hands on an agreement.
The 24-year-old Olympian is a mainstay for Sevilla, starting 22 La Liga games for them this season, and is currently the second-best performer in their entire squad going by average match rating per 90 (WhoScored).
Bade has also made more clearances per 90 than any other Sevilla player, according to WhoScored, so it looks as if he could be a solid addition to Maresca’s backline if they decide to formally pursue a deal.
