After three days of cross-border violence, Cambodia and Thailand have agreed to meet for ceasefire negotiations, according to statements from both nations as well as US President Donald Trump.
The announcement came hours after Trump, from his golf course in Scotland, asked both countries to end the conflict. Trump later stated that he had spoken with both Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and the acting Prime Minister of Thailand, Phumtham Wechayachai, in his efforts to restore peace.
Hun Manet thanked Trump and said that Cambodia agreed with the ceasefire proposal.
The fighting broke out on Thursday, as reported by viraltrendingcontent. More than a dozen people have been reported killed, dozens wounded, and more than 150,000 civilians evacuated.
