Batman: Arkham Shadow may not have been the new mainline Arkham game many have wanted for a decade, but the VR-exclusive prequel developed by Camouflaj has nonetheless enjoyed its fair share of success. Upon its release last October, the game saw widespread critical acclaim, and reflecting that, also seems to have attracted a healthy audience.
Spotted by YouTuber QuestWithMatt on Twitter, Batman: Arkham Shadow’s first Achievement – titled “False God” – has been unlocked by over 1 million players. The Achievement is unlocked within the opening minutes of the game, so that number is a fairly accurate estimation of the game’s total player count.
It’s worth mentioning, however, that Arkham Shadow is free with every Meta Quest 3S and with every Meta Quest 3 sold since the game’s release, which means we don’t know what its actual sales numbers are.
As for those hoping for a new AAA console Batman title, last year, reports claimed that a new Batman game had entered development at Rocksteady Studios following the failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Read more on that through here.
