Ukraine’s Air Force says Russia launched a large barrage of drones and missiles overnight into Saturday, targeting at least 15 locations across Ukraine.

Officials say the barrage consisted of over 100 drones and missiles, including the lethal Iskander ballistic variant.

Kyiv says its air defences successfully intercepted or jammed 94 drones aerially, but did note that the remaining 27 did strike their targets. They also noted that the ballistic missile did too strike its target, though they did not provide further details.

At least two people were killed and another 15 were injured over the past 24 hours in various Russian attacks, according to Ukrainian officials.

Donetsk – part of the eastern Donbas region – Gover Vadym Filashkin says one civilian was killed and at least two others were injured in overnight attacks in his region, which has been the most active frontline throughout Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, well into its fourth year.

At least three people were injured in Dnipropetrovsk as a result of the overnight attacks, which local officials say targeted residential buildings and energy infrastructure.

Regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha says the attack comes after a 43-year-old man was killed just hours prior in an earlier attack. He also noted that the Kremlin’s strikes caused power and gas outages to a large number of people, as the weather is expected to significantly colder.

DTEK, the largest private energy firm in Ukraine, says that some 100,000 families are experiencing power and gas outages after the strikes on the region, and comes as forecasts predict the weather to drop to 10 degrees below Celsius on Sunday.

The southern region of Zaporizhzhia was also victim to the Kremlin’s overnight attacks, with Governor Ivan Fedorov stating that at least three people sustained injuries and are being treated at medical facilities.

Zaporizhzhia has been a main focal point of Russian attacks in recent weeks. The region, according to local officials, suffered more than 740 attacks on populated areas on Friday alone.

A 56-year-old woman was also injured in Moscow’s strikes in Kharkiv, though officials say the injuries appear to be minor. Governor Oleh Syniehubov says the attacks targeted an close to a dozen multi-storey residential buildings, as well as civilian infrastructure, warehouses, vehicles and local businesses.

In Kherson, six people were wounded after Russian shelling damaged residential buildings, a parking lot with civilian vehicles and a gas pipeline servicing the needs of the region, according to Governor Oleksandr Prokudin.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian strikes on the western Russian Belgorod region, bordering Ukraine, was also struck in the early hours of Saturday, according to Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

Gladkov says that 600,000 residents of the region were left without power, water and gas after a Ukrainian missile strike. In a statement posted on Saturday, he noted that repairs were being carried out to restore service to the affected residents.

Ukrainian officials did not comment on the recent strikes. The region, which borders Ukraine’s Kharkiv, has come under regular attack from Kyiv’s forces since Russia started its invasion in February 2022.
