When it comes to AI generation and detection, I thought I’d seen it all. But just when you think you’ve got it figured out, something comes along that makes you question everything — or in this case, question nothing at all.
I’ve been keeping my eye on Hive Moderation for a while now. Their AI image detector? Pretty impressive stuff. So naturally, when I heard about their text detection capabilities, I was ready to put them up against the heavyweight champion of AI bypassing: Undetectable AI.
Now, I’m not one to spoil the ending, but let’s just say that sometimes, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. And boy, did this one fall hard.
What is Undetectable AI?
Undetectable AI is an AI humanizer and bypassing platform that paraphrases your input so that it hides AI writing from detectors. Using their output customization features, you can also make sure that the output doesn’t steer too far away from your original purpose and reading level.
Great, right? So, how much does it cost?
The pricing for Undetectable AI is flexible and depends on whether you’re paying monthly or annually. For the former, costs begin at $14.99 per month for 15,000 words and increase to $209 per month for 380,000 words. For annual payments, it starts at $5 per month for 10,000 words, with pricing scaling up to $104.42 per month for 380,000 words.

We’ve also done a deep dive into some of their other features like the Stealth Writer and AI Human Typer. You can also check out how you can use Undetectable AI ethically (since they disapprove of using their platform for cheating) here.
How Does Undetectable AI Work?
I wish I could say that all Undetectable AI does to avoid AI detection is scrambling your text and adding some unpredictability, but that wouldn’t be the whole truth.
There’s no AI bypasser today that can avoid AI detection without adding “human” errors in the text, and Undetectable AI is no exception. To see what I mean, here’s a text generated using ChatGPT and its equivalent on Undetectable AI:
Nostalgia is a bittersweet emotion that takes us back to cherished moments from the past. It can be sparked by a familiar song, a scent, or a place that reminds us of a simpler time. While it brings joy by revisiting happy memories, it can also evoke a sense of longing for what has been lost or changed. Nostalgia connects us to our roots, offering comfort and perspective, while reminding us of the fleeting nature of time and life’s precious moments. |
Remembering the past can stir up a mix of emotions. A blend of happiness and sadness that comes with revisiting memories triggered by triggers, like songs or scents associated with simpler times gone by. It’s, like taking a trip down memory lane where we find comfort and perspective in our roots while also feeling a twinge of longing for what we had but has now changed or slipped away. These moments of nostalgia serve as reminders of the passing of time and the fleeting nature of lifes memories. |
Notice the mistakes? Those are intentional. Someone somewhere figured out that the best way of avoiding AI detection without manually editing the input is through forced errors in grammar and punctuation.
Not the best solution, but it’s all we have today. That’s also why I wrote this article about fixing Undetectable AI’s grammar, so you have one less thing to worry about.
What is Hive Moderation?
If you’ve spent more than five minutes online, you know how toxic some comment sections can get. Now, imagine being the person who has to clean that up — yeah, not fun.
That’s where Hive Moderation comes in. It’s an AI-powered content moderator that can analyze everything from text to videos, flagging the bad stuff before it hits your platform. And when I say “bad stuff,” I mean all of it — spam, harmful content, things that would make your grandmother blush, and even AI (text, photos, and audio).
But I’m only interested in one aspect of Hive Moderation for today’s article, and that’s their AI content detector. On a personal note, I’ve tested Hive Moderation’s AI image detector before and it’s pretty good, which is why I also have high hopes for their text detector. The question is, will it disappoint me?
Can Undetectable AI Bypass Hive Moderation?
Look, we already know how good Undetectable AI can be against other detectors. But the thing is: we haven’t actually tested it against Hive Moderation yet. I’ve been hearing great things about this detector so let’s see how well it fares against (possibly) the best AI humanizer in the market.

Thoughts?
Like I said, I had high hopes for Hive Moderation (given their name recognition in the field of content creation) but unfortunately, I’m only left with one question:
That’s it?
I really thought they’d (at the very least) identify half of these as AI-generated, but they couldn’t. 9.58% isn’t reliable enough to be a good detector, even if it is free. That detection score is almost as low as Writer and ZeroGPT, the least consistent detection tools in the market.
So, What Did We Learn?
Well, for starters, we learned that having a big name doesn’t always translate to big results. Hive Moderation might be great at other things, but when it comes to catching AI-generated text that’s been through Undetectable AI, they’re just not in the game.
Look, I get it — AI detection isn’t easy, especially when you’re up against tools specifically designed to fool detectors. But a 9.58% accuracy rate? That’s not just missing the mark — that’s not even being in the same zip code as the target.
If you’re in need of reliable AI detection, you might want to look elsewhere. Tools like Copyleaks and Winston AI have proven themselves far more capable in our testing. And if you’re curious about other AI detection showdowns, our comprehensive comparison of the top detectors in the market against Undetectable AI is just a click away.
Remember, in the world of AI detection, it’s not about the name on the banner — it’s about what’s inside that counts. Good luck!
