GOOD FRIDAY FOR NORTHAMPTON
If you can cast your minds back far enough though, there was another game this evening!
And what a game it was too – if without quite the overtime that we got up north. Saints were left smarting from 52-21 defeat handed out by Bristol last week and boy did it show. The hosts went 14-0 up in 11 minutes but after a Fin Smith penalty, 13 straight Saracens points flipped the momentum with plenty of time left to play.
That was as good as it got though, Saints found a second wind as George Ramm, Tommy Freeman and Ollie Sleightholme crossed in a devastating 25-minute spell that ended the contest early.
Saracens weren’t done either, a brace from Alex Lewington earned them a valuable bonus-point, but they need a Bath victory over Harlequins tomorrow live on TNT Sports and discovery+ to remain in the top four.
