Concord is promising to be a packed experience at launch, with a dozen maps, half a dozen modes, and 16 Freegunners to play as, but as a live service multiplayer shooter, it is, of course, going to continue evolving and expanding with time. Sony and developer Firewalk have, in fact, revealed new details on what their post-launch plans for the game will entail, including new Freegunners, maps, modes, story vignettes, and more.
As previously confirmed, Concord isn’t going to have a battle pass, nor will it have any paid post-launch expansions. Its first postlaunch season, Season 1: The Tempest will kick off in October, a couple of months after the game’s release, and will add a new Freegunner, a new map, and new Variants of previous Freegunners.
Players can also look forward to fresh cosmetics and rewards, quality-of-life upgrades, and of course, new story vignettes, which Firewalk has said it intends to deliver more of with every new season. Additionally, Season 1 will also add an in-game cosmetics store.
Season 2, meanwhile, is set to kick off in January, and will be bringing more of what Season 1 will, as well as an additional new mode. Season 3 will arrive in April, though further details are currently scant on what exactly it will bring.
Concord is set to launch on August 23 for PS5 and PC. Check out its exact release timings through here.
