Oppo unveiled its new flagship Find X9 Ultra phone a few weeks ago in China and there’s a lot of good news. The handset, which is aiming to be the best camera phone of 2026, has been given a global launch.
I was at the launch event and I’ve been testing out the cameras ever since. With such a focus on photography, which you’d expect considering that it was co-engineered with Hasselblad, it’s this area that’ll be the decider if you’re choosing this phone over rivals.
There’s a lot of interesting tech packed into the Find X9 Ultra‘s large circular camera module on the back, headlining with a 10x periscope telephoto camera, which includes a 50Mp sensor and Oppo’s Quintuple Prism Reflection Periscope Structure, making it possible.
Furthermore, there are three additional rear cameras (not including the True Colour Camera sensor) and, factoring in the selfie camera, the phone totals a whopping 550Mp.

Rivals such as the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Vivo X300 Ultra, iPhone 17 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra all stick to triple rear camera setups. None of them can hit 10x optical zoom and most don’t have features to match the Quick Button, aka Master Shutter, which is similar to the iPhone’s Camera Button.
These things don’t make the Find X9 Ultra inherently better, but in my testing so far, it certainly has the ability to produce some astonishingly good results – you wouldn’t be surprised to learn that they’d come from a proper DSLR camera.
I’ll be unpacking it in my full Find X9 Ultra review very soon but, as a sneak preview of sorts, here are the best photos (all unedited) I’ve taken with the phone so far from over 1,000 shots.
They include shots from all cameras and some include the Oppo watermark showing you information like ISO and aperture. For some I’ve included a wider angle to provide context of just how far the optical zoom is going.
