Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio will host its annual RGG Summit on September 24th, but one of its announcements has seemingly leaked ahead of time. Fans spotted Yakuza Kiwami 3 on the official website, and while it’s since been removed, you can still see it in Google searches.
Further details are unknown, but a remake of the 2009 entry in the long-running action-adventure series isn’t too surprising. While going above and beyond the previous two entries, its English localization isn’t the best, and a significant amount of side content is missing. Whether Yakuza Kiwami 3 will address all this and other complaints remains to be seen, but an announcement next week suggests a release date in the near future.
Other titles that RGG Studio is working on include the next Virtua Fighter and Stranger Than Heaven, a new IP that looks to evolve on Yakuza’s formula. The latter is targeting a release sometime in fiscal year 2027, but the developer may still provide an update. Stay tuned next week for more details.
