Xiaomi’s foldable phones are rapidly evolving, boasting thinner designs, more powerful chipsets, advanced cameras and larger batteries.
The most recent one – the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 – is impressively thin and lightweight, directly competing with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, as well as the Honor Magic V3.

When will the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 be released?
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 was officially unveiled on 20 July 2024 in China.
Historically, Xiaomi has not delayed too long before releasing devices globally, following an initial Chinese launch. For instance, the Redmi Pad Pro was available worldwide about a month after its debut in China.
However, there’s no concrete evidence yet about a global release for the Mix Fold 4.
Meanwhile, retailers like Trading Shenzhen and Wonda Mobile are already offering the Mix Fold 4 for global purchase.
How much will the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 cost?
In China, the pricing for the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 starts at CNY 8,999 ($1,240/£970) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model is priced at CNY 9,999 ($1,375/£1,080), while the top-tier version – with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage – costs CNY 10,999 ($1,515/£1,200).
Although the phone has still not officially released globally, some retailers are already offering sales outside of China. For international buyers, prices from retailers like Trading Shenzhen and Wonda Mobile at the time of writing are as follows:

Do note that these units will run Chinese software, which might affect the functionality of certain apps, like Google Wallet and Android Auto. Additionally, eSIM functionality will only work with Chinese network carriers.
For a fully operational model outside China, you’ll have to wait until an official global launch manifests.
What specs and features does the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 have?
Design
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is incredibly thin and light, weighing just 226 grams;, on par with Honor’s Magic V3.
It measures 4.59mm thick when unfolded and 9.47mm when folded. The phone features a curved-frame design, with the sides tapering into the aluminum frame. Its internal structure is made of T800H high-strength carbon fibre, offering a 300% improvement in impact resistance, compared to its predecessor.
It’s also the first Xiaomi foldable with an IPX8 rating, making it water-resistant up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
Display
The Mix Fold 4 boasts a 6.56-inch LTPO OLED cover display, with an FHD+ resolution, a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a 21:9 aspect ratio.
The main display is a 7.98-inch UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) FHD+ panel, again featuring an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate.
Both displays can reach up to an impressive 3,000 nits peak brightness and each includes a 20Mp front-facing camera.
Performance
Under the hood, the Mix Fold 4 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage; the same silicon you’ll find in the current Xiaomi 14 flagship smartphone line.
Cameras
The camera setup on the Mix Fold 4 is impressive, featuring a Leica quad camera system with Summilux lenses.
The main camera is a 50Mp sensor with a 23mm equivalent lens, f/1.7 aperture, and OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation).
It also includes a 50Mp 2x 47mm portrait sensor, a 10MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom and a 115mm equivalent lens, and a 12Mp ultrawide lens (15mm equivalent).
Battery Life & Charging
The Mix Fold 4 is equipped with a 5,100mAh Xiaomi Surge battery, supporting 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Software
The device runs on Xiaomi’s own HyperOS user experience, based on Android 14. However, global users should note that the picking up a Chinese model, running Chinese software, might affect the functionality of some apps and services.
