Austin, Texas-based grocer Whole Foods Market opened a new 43,000-square-foot store in Parker on Thursday.
The Parker store’s product assortment includes more than 700 locally sourced items from Colorado, featured across its produce, grocery, meat, bakery and wellness and beauty departments.
Shoppers will find a curated grocery selection with exclusive brands and local products, organic and Sourced for Good products, full-service seafood and meat counters, an extensive selection of more than 250 craft beers and 630 wines, a prepared foods department featuring a rotating hot bar, pizza, rotisserie chicken and sushi and a bakery department, along with a wellness section featuring over 70 local products.
The store also has a specialty cheese department, where trained cheesemongers can provide recommendations for any occasion and create custom boards.
The new Parker store is at 8665 Kings Point Way and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“As a Parker resident myself, I’m thrilled to help open the first Whole Foods Market location in this wonderful community,” said Karen Breault, store team leader.
“This store brings together high-quality ingredients, trusted sourcing and a deep connection to local producers. We’re looking forward to becoming part of the everyday rhythm of the Parker community.”
On opening morning, customers enjoyed complimentary juice from Big B’s Fruit Company, herbal coffee alternatives from Rasa and sweet bread bites from Outrageous Baking.
The first 300 shoppers were given a limited-edition tote bag and a Secret Saver coupon, featuring savings of up to $100.
Additionally, Whole Foods Market provided an all-electric refrigerated van and food donation to Colorado nonprofit Help & Hope Center, which makes regular surplus food pickups from local Whole Foods Market stores to help prevent food waste and serve the surrounding community.
Both donations are part of Whole Foods Market’s Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program.
The grocer also presented Denver-based supplier SAM+LEO with a low-interest loan through the Whole Foods Market Lending Program to support its initial launch into more than 30 Whole Foods Market locations.
Through the program, Whole Foods lends money to small-scale, local or emerging producers to help them grow their businesses. To date, the retailer has provided 430 loans, representing about $39 million in capital for recipients, according to an October news release.
Founded in 1980, Whole Foods Market is a natural and organic foods retailer and the first certified organic national grocer in the United States. Part of Amazon’s Worldwide Grocery Stores, Whole Foods Market serves customers in more than 545 stores across the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
