Archie returns to Destiny 2 with a trip to the Dreaming City following the May 21, 2024, weekly reset.
This is the latest in a series of “Where in the System is Archie” quests in the wake of the Into the Light update — which are being staggered out week-by-week in the lead up to The Final Shape.
Note this quest expires on the May 28 weekly reset, and will be replaced by another Archie quest in a new location. Remember, provided you complete any Archie quest before the arrival of The Final Shape, you’ll get your hands on the Blue Steel shader, while the lore for all Archie quests will be available from June 4 on.
How to start ‘Where in the Dreaming City is Archie?’ in Destiny 2
To start the latest “Where is Archie” quest, head to the Tower’s Annex and find the paw prints. For future reference, this is where you’ll find the beginning of every Archie quest each week.
You can reach this location by using the southwest-most fast travel point, then traveling straight ahead down the corridor. The paw prints will appear on the ledge to your right.
Investigate the prints and go talk to Ada-1 (found in the Annex proper opposite) to start the latest quest.
Now, head to the Dreaming City, and speak to vendor Petra Venj, who is in The Strand this week. Once done, the search begins.
All Archie Dreaming City locations
Here is where to find Archie in the Dreaming City, clue-by-clue.
‘Archie wanted to check out the Blind Well … but Guardians were fighting something scary, so he decided to wait outside the door’ location
The first clue takes you to the Divalian Mists. When you land, jump on your vehicle and head into the giant cathedral ahead of you, which leads to the Blind Well activity.
Keep moving forward until you reach the stairs that lead up into the Blind Well. Here, you’ll find Archie’s footprints.
Now it’s down to see the Ahamkara bones.
‘Archie heard about some mysterious bones that like to barter and, naturally, felt compelled to check them out’ location
This clue refers to the Ahamkara vendors resting below Rheasilvia and outside of The Conflux in the Harbinger’s Seclude.
The fastest and easiest way to get to this set of paw prints is to head to Rheasilvia and make your way through the giant cathedral on the north side, which takes you into the Harbinger’s Seclude.
Follow the path until you reach the giant Awoken statue at the end. From there, turn around to face where you came from. Move forward and into the small elevator chamber ahead of you.
Once you reach the bottom, walk forward to the space between the two vendors and you’ll see the paw prints on the ground.
‘Archie felt like someone was playing a trick on him! He kept hearing the sound of a cat’s purring permeating the Mists’ location
This clue refers to Divialian Mists, which is the western location that you drop into in the Dreaming City.
Once you land, head to the left part of the area by the cliffs. Drop off the side and look for a big lip most of the way down. Land on it and head inside.
This cave is much deeper than it seems. Keep walking further into the cave until you find Archie’s footprints.
Once you’ve investigated them, you’re off to the Oracle Engine.
‘Archie’s last stop. He was hoping to say hello to the queen if she was around’ location
This final location is toward the Spine of Keres, which is to the west of the Divalian Mists.
Make your way to the Oracle Engine in the Spine of Keres. On your way, you’ll get stopped by a boss called Ogre Ascendant.
Kill the boss and it’ll drop an Oracle Offering. Continue into the big Oracle Engine tower and walk up to the Techeun witch. Interact with the panel next to her to unlock the Oracle Engine. Once it’s in place, run inside.
Head up to the throne and you’ll see Archie sitting on the opposite side of the chest. Interact with him and then head back to Ada-1 in the Tower.
She’ll give you some Ahamkara Bones and 10 Trophy of Bravery tokens — useful for getting more Brave weapons. Whether you keep it is up to you. Archie will be sad if you don’t!
Remember, another “where is Archie” quest will appear next week following the weekly reset. Until then, if you’re looking for more to do in the Into the Light update, you can take on Pantheon bosses, complete “Zero Hour,” and for “The Whisper,” find Oracle locations, and upgrade Whisper of the Worm with Taken Blights.
