G&F’s current director of business development Ryan Mansfield will lead the new Irish facility.
US company G&F Precision Molding is expanding into Ireland with a new engineering and sales facility in Mullingar, Co Westmeath. G&F plans to create more than 30 “high value” roles at the facility to support the company’s future production operation.
Midlands 103 reports that the jobs will be created over the next five years, with the location initially placing focus on engineering, sales and prototype development. By year three, G&F plans to move to a larger facility in Westmeath, the broadcaster added.
G&F is a provider of advanced manufacturing solutions involving injection moulded silicone and thermoplastic parts. The company’s Irish expansion “marks a new chapter in Ireland’s medical technology manufacturing landscape”, said IDA Ireland, which supported G&F’s entry into the country.
The government agency added that the company is bringing liquid silicone rubber moulding – a capability previously only available on-shore through captive in-house operations – to the Irish trade sector for the first time.
The company’s current director of business development Ryan Mansfield will lead the new Irish facility after relocating from G&F’s Massachusetts site.
“Establishing a presence in Ireland marks a significant milestone and reflects years of G&F’s commitment to building strong partnerships with our customers,” said John Argitis, the president of G&F Precision Molding.
“It is my intent that this foothold grows to become a significant member of the Irish life science manufacturing community.”
Mary Buckley, the executive director at IDA Ireland said: “G&F Precision Molding’s decision to establish in Mullingar underscores the midlands’ growing reputation as a vibrant hub for companies to expand their global offering.”
Meanwhile, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke, TD, added: “This investment is a strong vote of confidence in the midlands and in Ireland’s growing reputation as a global hub for med-tech innovation.
“The plans for over 30 high-quality jobs will have a meaningful impact on our local economy and community”.
