Trump Campaign Says It Holds More Cash Than Biden Campaign

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign says it raised about $111.8 million in June.

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign says it outraised President Joe Biden’s campaign in the second quarter, and leads his Democrat opponent in cash on hand.

On July 2, hours after the Biden campaign announced it had $240 million in cash at the end of June, the Trump campaign announced it entered July with $284.9 million.

The press release, published by Donald J. Trump for President 2024 Inc., noted that the campaign raised $331 million between the beginning of April and the end of June. That figure exceeds the $264 million that the Democratic National Committee said it raised over the same period.

The figures cannot be independently verified yet, as none of the bodies regulated by the Federal election Commission have issued public disclosure statements on their June activities.

However, committees reporting quarterly are due to release financials on July 15, and the entities publishing monthly disclosures will do so on July 20.

Those documents will give the public a clear view of each candidate’s finances in the 2024 election cycle.

In a joint statement, Trump campaign senior advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said “polling and voter enthusiasm continue to grow for President Trump.”

Three polls were published on July 2—conducted by CNN, USA Today/Suffolk University Political Research Center, and I&I/TIPP. The polls ranged in outcome with two showing former President Trump leading, while one finding former President Biden ahead.

The Trump campaign’s June release said it raised about $111.8 million. However, it did not specify which committees collected the funds.

In its July 2 release, the principal campaign committee Biden for President said that it, the Democratic National Committee, and joint fundraising committees associated with the campaign raised $127 million in June.

When political committees last revealed their bank balances on June 20, FEC disclosures showed that former President Trump had the cash advantage over President Biden.

The June statements, which did not feature committees reporting on a quarterly basis, said fundraising groups associated with the Trump campaign ended May with about $214.8 million in cash on hand, while the Biden groups closed out the fifth month of the year with about $183.9 million in cash on hand.

In May, according to federal disclosures, Republican Party committees—the Republican National Committee, National Republican Congressional Committee, and National Republican Senatorial Committee—also outraised their Democratic Party counterparts for the first time in 2024.

In previous statements, GOP leaders attributed their strong fundraising month to what they said was outrage over a New York jury’s verdict to convict former President Trump of multiple felonies. The groups said they raised record amounts in the hours and days after the decision was made.

The Biden for President release said the campaign raised more than $33 million after the June 27 televised debate between the the presumptive nominees.

Both President Biden and former President Trump are expected to receive their respective political party’s nomination for president at the forthcoming summer conventions. The Republican National Convention will be held in Milwaukee July 15–18. The Democratic National Convention will take place in Chicago Aug 19–22.
